Post

Hello,
I am new to this forum and recently bought a 2015 Versa sedan S in graphite blue. I love it so far! :)

I was wondering what the general experience has been with reliability and the extended warranty.
When I purchased the car, I agreed to get the Security+Plus plan for about $20 more a month for my financed 60 months.
It extends the factory warranty to 6 years / 65k miles.

Now, I am not sure it is worth it. It doesn't cover wear and tear items, and the powertrain is already covered, so my thought is I probably won't need it for an extra 30k miles?

Thanks,
Erin

I would agree with your thought. We've had four of them and never needed anything fixed out of warranty that soon. Even the ones well over 100k are having no problems. Do the routine maintenance on schedule and it should do well for you.

I have a 2007 Versa Sl, 6 speed. This was the first year it was offered in the States and I got the extended warranty. Anyway, the only problem I have had with the car was the gas line had a manufacturing defect that was covered by the standard warranty. I paid off the car early and asked to cancel the extended warranty. I got my money back. I am currently at 101,478 miles and have not had a single issue with the car. Do you have the 1.6L or the 1.8? I have the 1.8L and it has been a champ. My suggestion, get your money back and use it for something else. These cars have been out for so many years that all early issues with production have been cleared. Then again, piece of mind is a good thing.
