Hey NICO,

I just wanted to inform you that a new vented CF Hood made by Cwings that will be gracing our presence in about 10-12 weeks.

I have attached a preview pic for you to give your feedback on. We have been trying to have something made for the RB guys since the motors runs so hot. This hood is fully functional and from a practicality standpoint, should be awesome....

Let us know what you think.....

If we receive good feedback, we will be offering a special pre-order sale for only NICO members. I gurantee the pricing will be phenominal.

doesnt look too shabby. but that little vent in the front looks weird. i could do with just the vents on top. rps13's will get these too?

Hmmm looks like a scoots hood replica for the rx-7. I actually picked one up from VIS for a friend last week... The hood looks absolutely sick on a seven when its color matched, but I dunno how it will look on a 240...

Here are some pics I had of the hood on the seven.... also here is a sight with more different types of seven hoods...

Also I have heard that this hood does wonders for cooling, which is extremely important for the hot running rotaries... anyways... these pics should help you out chris...

I think that front most scoop is just too much. If it were just the latter parts, it'd be awesome.

this gives you an idea of what the hood looks like on the s14. keep in mind, the cwings hood offered by underground has larger vents. i think it looks dead sexy.

more pics can be found here.

ehhh now that I see it on the s14, I don't really like it... It really doesn't flow with the body. The seven is so curvy, the hood seems to keep the same lines... Also the front scoop and the two rears were specifically designed to cool a rotary. I think even on the curvier s13 it might not really match...

I think BN sports or yashio knockoffs would be better since the style and vents were designed for our cars...

Looks good on the RX7, going to look like *** on the S13.. MAY look ok on S14.. All obviously my opnions, but i really think it is the curvey hoodlines that make that hood, its just not going to fly on the 240s

Why dont companies ask us before they spend tons of money on developing a product it seems most of us dont want/like. And of those that like it how many will buy?

We are one of the biggest 240 forums on the web and they cant poll us? I vote for a C-West triple vent hood knockoff in CF.

Yoshio and Msport have the best vented hood designs for silvias and 180sx's IMO.-chet

The new C-West Style copy you are talking about will come out in about 3-4 weeks. They have already sent the original out to be copied and the CF copy should be released soon.

We have been looking to run the CW CF copy on my car.

That hood is fugly. LOL I will laugh at anyone that buys it.

Werd. Yashios S13 hood is awesome. Don't worry, nobody will replicate it, its just too cool and wanted by many people. They have us down good, 20 vents/scoops with slapped on cowl induction :rolleyes Ya thats what we really need.

I've been sending requests to companies to copy the Cwest hood for years now.

Keep in mind guys, this is not about looks for us. We are going for something functional.

I'm not here to argue over looks, I think it's awesome. Just my opinion. Just because a hood has vents, doesn't make it a cowl hood.

Whatever happened to purpose and functionality, everybody these days is so wrapped up in looks and what others will think of them.

c'mon man, I'm willing ot kiss your azz over copying the Cwest hood, but seriously you cant expect to argue that a carbonfiber vented hood isnt a major style issue.

Sure none of us would want fake vents on our hoods, but at the same time, if i didnt want it to look good i could bust out the sawz-all.

I was exaggerating. 20 vents AND cowl induction. Not 20 vents = cowl. I know what cowl induction is.

It may be functional and all, but Id rather have the very much functional Yashio style (which matches S13 well) than something like...that. It totally doesnt match any 240 IMHO. Its decent with the RX7, cuz the lines go together, but its still pretty up there on my ugly list.

BTW- I dont worry about what others will think. Im not going to buy, what I believe is a horribly ugly hood to be "myself". I would prefer a hood with form AND function, not really either one by itself. You know?

Looks kinda ricey to me, but then again if it keeps your engine from blowing due to overheat, why complain?
