New user, questions on removing the fan

Hi, I m new here, but i have my 240 for about 2-3 yrs. Anyway, my question is whether anyone has removed the fan which attached to the water pump? I wnat to remove it, coz i hate that noise, and my radiator shord is broken and keep hitting it.Thanks

If you are going to remove it you need to get an electric fan, especailly being in Texas, so that you don't over heat and fry your motor.

look in the FAQs on 240sx.org. there is a write-up there on how to rewire the electric fan that is already in your car, so that you can remove the mechanical fan. i did that about 3 weeks ago, almost a month now, and run great. after that and fixing the timings chain guides, my car runs very quiet. even runs a little cooler now too.
