OK - first off - Hello all - just joined. I just purchased a 2005 G35 for my son. It has 28K miles on it and is in very good shape. Actually - I'm jealous that my son gets to drive it. It's a very sharp car.

There are a few items that need attention and that is why I'm here. The rear spoiler I can only assume is an aftermarket. I say this becasue the brake light lens within the spoiler has turned from red to pink. I assume the sun has oxidized it. Not knowing the aftermarket brand, is there any place that sells the lenses only or the light only? I do not want to have to buy a new spoiler since it is in good shape and looks good.

2nd - the weather stripping ot the rubber molding around the rear side windows looks like it has oxidized too. The flat horizintal profile that is exposed to the sun (facing up) is "splotchy" for lack of a better term. Is there anything that will repair this or are there replacement rubber moldings on the market?

Other than that, the car is in great shape and I hope he (my son) keeps it that way. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Welcome to Nico!

1. Spoiler - If it were me, I would check ebay and some other aftermarkets to see if I could find somebody selling the same spoiler, then ask them who makes it. Then contact them.

2. Not sure about the weather stripping. You might want to check out the service manuals to see how to remove it.http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/ Next, check with Infiniti on a replacement piece.

Did you get him a Coupe or Sedan? What color? Auto or manual?

Welcome to NICO

Another option for the rear spoiler LED strip is to get some red lense tape that you can find at automotive stores (and WalMart style places). You can cut a piece to size and simply "overlay" the LED strip. Should work.

I have not found anything to restore those types of rubber "spots" and on my Maxima trim as I have one bad area at the drivers side window. What you can look for is some of the stuff that is used to recondition those old black rubber bumpers that cars used to have. I have not tried any of those products yet.
