They will hold to prices they can sell at. I paid $23,800 (plus $300 sales tax) He was asking $25,000 for a used Journey with all options and accessories except for tech package with 27895 miles, Find a PRIVATE seller. I paid about $1500 more then he was offered on trade. Still had 12 months of warranty, I would never buy one of these cars from a dealer. They are asking $27,000 for those with my miles and options, Which means they "might" sell for $25,900 Plus fees. I put my car up for sale for $26900 for fun ( put new Michelin Primacys and tinted wndows, and got offers for $25,000. The rarity of these cars seems to be in favor of holding prices up.pardy86 wrote:Hi everyone,
So I got my heart set on a 2010 ex35. Its black, comes with all the bells and whistles which is what I wanted but the price is not where I want it to be at $24,958 (this is canadian dollars). I was wondering what a fair price would be to get it to?
I almost bought one last night but they wouldnt come down to $20,800 from 22,950 so I walked. This was also an 09 which warranties have also run out on.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hard to find that here in Toronto, I saw yours and its VERY nice. I found another blk/tan 09 EX35. They are asking $23,598 but if I can get him to $22,000 tops tomorrow I will buy it.kingfrog wrote:They will hold to prices they can sell at. I would never pay $20,000 for any "luxury" car with 70K miles out of warranty, I would rather buy a two year old Toyota. In fact i would not buy a high mileage Lexus, Infinti, MB BMW at all. Best buy one still in warranty where you can buy a VSC. A 3/36 Infiniti Elite no deductible Vehicle Service contract would cost me $640. I won't keep the car more than 3 years so I will likely buy it,
Thanks buddy, hoping to join the club soon!AWGD8 wrote:Good luck Pardy86!
The Grey one from Leons fine cars I am interested in but Im afraid of buying from a none dealership. I LOVE the grey colour on it. Its the one Im looking for now. All others I have no interest.
This one is purple, I have seen it in person.JohnD wrote:Is "purple" the dealer's description or have you actually seen the car? I am pretty sure that Infiniti never made a purple EX35. The colour is probably actually "dark currant metallic" which is a metallic paint which changes colour in the sun and I thought was very sharp.
More a red wine colour than a purple:

If you have not already seen the car, it might be worth having a look at it, particularly on a sunny day and make up your own mind.
Noted. They told me they might have one coming in with nov off a trade and if thats the case I wont need it. Its 2k more to have it put in by the dealership but if I did that it puts me over my limit.kingfrog wrote:BAd Idea......In a Luxury car you should have the car stock. Easier to sell, Besides the NAV package is not all that much more. But that is just me. I would not buy any luxury car with after market electronics in the dash, Maybe a Toyota or Chevy,
Would you kindly post data showing that an EX without factory navigation holds value better. The truth of the matter is the reason why buyers do not purchase a vehicle equipped with a factory navigation package is due to the buyer not being able to "afford" the added cost of the factory navigation package. However, if you're a driver that will never drive beyond your own town/city....then paying the extra money for the navigation package would certainly be a waste of money. Additionally, buyers that aren't overly impressed by tech gadgets will also tend to forego buying a vehicle with a navigation package as well because they will not get a good return on the extra money that's being spent.kingfrog wrote:I agree you don't need NAV. MY point was not to buy a car with aftermarket nav built in. Use a Garmin and go with a STOCK car.
The value will hold better
While I concur that it strains logic to spend 10 times as much for built in navi versus a Garmin that has free traffic and speed limits on even back roads, when I drive a loaner without Navi it feels like a much greater downgrade than it should. It just seems like navi should be a standard amenity in a luxury car, and maybe it has to do with the prominent placment atop the center stack, but it feels like it is the car's window on the world, and an add on just doesn't have the same ambiance.seldomseen wrote:Would you kindly post data showing that an EX without factory navigation holds value better. Quite frankly, it's simply mind boggling to purchase a luxury brand vehicle these days that doesn't include factory navigation. There's simply something very tacky about having a Garmin navigation affixed to the windshield of an Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, BMW, etc.
