THEY USE DIFFERENT MOUNTING SYSTEMS, YOU WOULD NEED A CUSTOM transmission, AND ON TOP OF THAT COUNTLESS OTHER "ISSUES". THEY SWAP RWD ENGINES INTO FWD AND ME-RWD CARS SO I'M SURE ITS POSSIBLE WITH PATIENCE AND A LARGE BANKROLL.

yeah no doubt, the qr is turning out to be a lame duck....if nissan would have put more funding into hot rodding the ka a bit they would have had a much nicer high displacement 4 banger...for the first z33 concept they had a 200 hp ka in it...cams, intake, pistons, tuned exhuast and whatnot and they would have had a torque monster on thier hands

First of all, You have to acquier one of these things and a transmission at least 4000

Second you have to make it fit with a transmission 5k+

Thats a lot of money for an engine with unkown amount of potential

With 9k I could easily see myself with a 230hp KA or a 400hp KAT

with the money you'll spend on this you might as well buy a sentra spec-v. i dont know why in the hell you would ever want to even question doing this. please sell your 240 and give it to someone deserving.

Well you are not gonna get much more power out of a n/a nissan engine than a KA in the first place (and keep your handling that is). But sure go crazy and swap a VG in or something ($$$).

I know i say this alot to you guys, but you can swap in SOHC pistons into a DOHC and make enough extra power to make a stockish KA fun...

people add 150+ extra pounds with the RB25 and RB26 swap and the car still handels amazing.

If you wanna stay KA there are plenty of NA RWD nissan motors out there. I think a VQ35DE swap would be very cool :)

150 lbs is nothing though. Though i wasnt aware of the VQ35's existance in the U.S. (huh...). Im guessing it weighs more than 150 over a KA though. God knows the old VG's do...

And specifically, it should affect the cars oversteer ability even if only 150 lbs. SR's weigh less than KA's and that effects handling in that manner as well.

Wait until the GTR-35 is released, then once someone wrecks one, you can get yourself a VQ35DETT ;)

(As a counter-statement to the first part of that quote)

Not sure the exact weights, but VQs are al. blocks. Then again, they are bigger and use a different transmission.

The also sit back more (or extend less :-) than a RB25DET/26DETT (not to mention don't have the extra weight of IC/turbo/piping).
