Learned a couple new tricks this weekend, at least for me, and thought I'd share them. #1:WalMart sells Mobile 1 oil in 5 quart bottles for a fairly good discount from the quarts. #2:If you put the bottle of rear axle lube in a bucket of hot water for a while before squeezing it into the carrier, things go a whole lot easier!

Wal-Mart I found is the best place to get oil changes, and at a damn good price. $35 for the oil change, $7 at Wendle Infiniti for the filter. Wendle Infiniti wanted $65+tax for the same service.

I made friends with one of the senior tire/lube guys at the Veradale WA Wal-Mart who fixed my flat after they had already closed. Tried to tip him but he refused, so I wrote up a long and friendly comment letter. They do a great job there.

And the best part.. when youre traveling across the country, a Wal-Mart superstore can be found anywhere. Something oddly reassuring about that.

Believe it or not, I have mine changed at the dealers. One only charges $18 including filter when I bring the Mobil 1. Wash and vacuum included also.
