I just got my Rogue back Friday after the new transmission was installed. I might be delusional, but it seems like it is running at higher RPM's than it was. I don't know if this is normal or if this is the way it was and I'm just imagining it. I've always tried to use a light foot upon accelleration to keep the gas mileage high (which I've been averaging about 27.5 mpg this summer), but now even doing that, the RPM's seem to be higher. I was on the highway this afternoon, and doing 70 mph on cruise on level pavement, it stayed at around 22-2300 RPM's. It seemed like before it was always under 2000 RPM at this speed, but it's almost been a month since I've driven it so maybe I'm mistaken. I know lower RPM's helps with gas mileage so I want to be sure nothing is wrong. I've got to call the dealer tomorrow because for some reason my driver window won't go up all the way with one touch so not sure what happened there. I thought I would ask here to see what others thought or have experienced. Thanks!

It's unfortunate that your transmission had to be replaced my rogue just hit 36000 and is running as good as when i picked it up. i drive mostly highway and at 70 mph it runs at the 2200-2300. if you that it would run at 2000 then you probably werent paying attention to the speed ometer. Cuz at 60 it runs at 2000 or even 65 at 60 its about 1950. Hope this helps

Yep, at 70 mph on a flat highway it will run exactly 2200 rpms, always has. Regarding the higher rpms around town, this is normal as they reset the computer (ECU) when they change the CVT, so it's like starting over new and the Rogue uses "adaptive logic control" which essentially means for the first few weeks the vehicle learns your driving habits, then tunes the CVT to your preferences. So if you continue to drive very light on the throttle for the next few weeks, it'll soon begin anticipating this preference and selecting a higher gear ratio very quckly, and you'll notice the low rpms around town becoming the norm. So nothing to worry about, just drive conservatively and it'll come around.

Oh yeah, and I wouldn't say "sorry you had your transmission replaced", to me this isn't anything to worry about, just a defective part that got replaced with a brand new one, and in a way it's good because you get to start fresh with a brand new CVT, you're good to go!

Thanks for the replies. This makes me feel better. I tend to overanalyze things, and it just seemed to be running differently. I will continue to drive as I have been and "train" it again as it was running great before this. Just turned over 15,000 and this is the only issue I've had so far. I was definitely happy to get it back after 3 weeks. It felt like a new car again. Loved the heated seats this morning...
