Hi Jim, welcome aboard!

It's a pertty big job, but can be done if you're handy. We've had pretty good luck with the guy on ebay who sells 240 convertible tops.

Also, the 'vert supplemental manual is often available on ebay. We are working on getting one scanned and loaded on NICOfor reference.

Yes, I can. Write http://www.faxonautolit.com and request a (year) 240sx Convertible service manual supplement. I ordered one 2 weeks ago and had it within a week for a total of $28 delivered. Mine was in 'very good' shape. Let me know if they still have some. There are other avenues also but they came thru for me. Have you already bought a new top? Someone on here talked about buying a brand called Elektron I believe and said it was the absolute best there was. But couldn't findthem on the internet. I may have the wrong spelling. I'd be interested in confirming of that also. Take care and good luck. That book will be very important to you.

It's Electron with 'C.' A member attwater has this on his car and he said 'Elektron' in his post. Since then everyone thinks it's Elektron. Anyway, I'm also interested in Electron top. I want to install best quality top available for my car.

Thanks for your great help, i ordered a manual.getting ready to order a top from the folks you recommended, their work appears to be 1st. class. so I`m going to tackle this beast my self. "Electron Top" is the name of the place. thanks for the lead, their price is better than any I`ve got so far. I`ll post back here & let you know how fun a project it was. jim

JIM DUGGAN,Are you going to order from eBay guy or Electron Top? I think you also need some special tools like glue gun, staple gun and stuff. You will see once you receive the manual. It was interesting to see that old top works as a template for a new one, so do not remove your old top yet. I'm still debating doing it myself or taking it to the professional. 8hrs of installation time scares me and I also want to replace everything including back window and headliner.

sxxy1992, since my last post I found I couldn`t buy from Electron directly,(sure you heard that before) so I called one of their dealers in my area,He said he`s been installing their tops for 30 yrs. says their of excellent quality. He said install cost would be $ 300.00 & he`s not marking-up the cost of the top. and would need the car for a couple of days. (would probely take me 3-4 days) would take 7-10 days to get, as their special order item.So I`ll let him do the job. I`ve already ordered the book, but that will be good to have anyway. & it will probably save me a lot of greef. Thanks again for your help. jim

Welcome to the club JIM. Glad to have an ex professional wrestler aboard.

$300 for a top install is a great deal! I'd pay that in a heartbeat.

Let us know how it turns out.
