New to tuning EFI. Bikes and cars I worked on had carbs

Am looking around trying to find out what I can do to my 93 240SX Coupe and on Ebay I keep seeing this engine Chip for an extra 50HP and 15 MPG. I realize those are fantasy figures, but can anyone tell me if they have chipped their car and gotten any gains at all? I will be installing a cold air intake next summer (no good here when it is -20) and will free up the exhaust too. At the moment I am looking for better mileage rather than HP because when I want power I will be going with a turbo later.
