Hello Everyone My Name is Angelo I'm a carreer Firefighter in Connecticut. Iv'e owned 4 Maxima's & 1 Pathfinder. The only Nissan I have now is a 1995 Maxima SE which I purchased in 1994 It currently has approx. 140K on it. My wife loves this car but recently it has just been stalling out of the blue. The check engine has been on for the longest. Since 95 Iv'e always had problems with check engine light. 02 sensor has been replaced during warranty and it always goes back to the same.

Iv'e tried diagnosing the problem with an online Nissan master tech and still nothing so far.

several codes came up and still same. Iv'e changed the TPS, Knock Sensor And problem still exsist.

MAF unit has been suspect, IAAC. I'm not sure whats going on. I just can't large amounts money to find out now I need a transmission.

Harness was a another suspect.

Can someone out please help me. I really don't want to get rid of this family piece of memory.

Also, beside stalling sometimes the odometer and speedmeter stop working as well.

Any Ideas??

I already moved your post to the maxima forum.. Dont worry about it, you are in good hands... The maxima folks will show up soon and make sure your car is taken care of...

Since you have a 95 you are still OBDI which means you will have to check the ECU codes yourself. I definitely recommend you do that and see why the CEL is on.. We are definitely spinning our wheels until we figure out what the computer thinks is wrong.. There should be some articles in the HOW TO section on how to check the codes for a maxima...

Welcome to NICO

Do you know the codes that are being thrown? We do have the FSM's available as well to help you troubleshoot:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/maxima/1995/

Engine codes and trouble shooting should be in the ec.pdf. I suggest you download it to your computer as it has been know to lockup via online viewing

Hi people, The last time I checked I had the following codes from the ECM:

10 slow flashes 5 fast.1 Slow 2 fast3 slow 3 fast5 slow 3 fast

This is the best way I can describe what I saw.

You know the warning label that indicates what you should not go past a certain stop, well the the first time I did it, I past the stop not knowing even lightly, you can go over. I probably over- corrected it to put it back. I still have clockwise stop and a counter-clockwise stop and it still gives me codes.

What position should it be on?I left in the clockwise position? And last did I damage the ECM?

By the way people, this is an awesome site.

by the way guys when I use this term guys it means male and female. just to let you guys know. I'm not by no means a mechanic but I am mechanically incline. Any help in resolving this issue with my 95 maxima se will be appreciated. thank in advance.Angelo
