as the title says im new to nissans and the z family. my long time friend owns a black tt and for the longest has been the biggest nissan fan. for years i just blew it off as his choice in cars. well i found myself helping him pull his engine and trans to replace some things to get it prepped for z1 nationals last year and kinda fell in love with the cars looks and design. was kinda hooked once i started researching the 300zx and the events surrounding the z culture. two options i gave myself were a g35 or a 2+2 300zx due to having a toddler and needing a backseat. well after selling my car in nov of last year purchased a beater for a few months until i found the car i wanted.

2 weeks ago i purchased a 1990 300zx 2+2 auto(i know what your thinking but itll be ok for right now, swap plans are in the future) car is white and has a pretty clean body for its age but needs paint. the interior was bluish looking tweed but the last owner installed the dark grey looking leather seats. the car came with a k&n intake system, ebay? catback exhaust system(im guessing), one peice drive shaft, maxima electric radiator fan, and a chipped computer. also the last owner installed a set of chrome TT rims along with some bfg tires.

bad problem is the car was skipping whne i bought it. guy showed me a receipt from where he had just got the car worked on and all the injectors, maf, and timing belt replaced along with a tune up. the problem was similar to some issues ive helpped my buddy work out on other 300s so i wasnt hesitant to buy it. once i got the car i found that damn near all the plugs had broken clips or were coroaded. so far ive replaced all coil plugs, ptu harness, ptu, tps plug, cps plug, z1 newstyle injector kit with new style red top injectors, injector plugs, and NGK spark plugs. while i had the mani out i did the water line delete also. was able to track down the skipping to the injectors being crap which i figured even thou they were new. all in all the car runs pretty good now. still having a cold idle issue thats kinda choppy and could use some ideas but im happy with her right now. kinda satisfied with the $2000 dollar price and now im eager to get started with upgrades. i hope to have some pics up soon but just wanted to introduce myself first.

Welcome to NICO! As far as cold idle issues, I'd look to the Fast Idle Control Device. It's a part of the IAC. Just take everything off, clean it, put it back on, and follow this write-up to adjust the base idle.

Now get some pics up!
