I have a 95 s14 4lug with stock suspension. I was wondering if a set of 17x7 offset 40 ADR Intense rims would fit on my girl without rubbing? I was told no cuz they're fwd rims but i really like the way these mugs look! If not then i will sell them for something non stock that will fit but im hoping i dont have to sell them!Fronts 215/45Rears 205/50

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics and them being mad dirty they are sitting in my kitchen!

Stop right there.

Why are the fronts wider than the rears? No. Just... no. Nevermind. I don't care.

Those offsets will look terribly sunken on a 240. They may fit with stock suspension, but as soon as you go lower, you're gonna need to get rid of them. Save yourself the trouble and sell them now.

This will give you a clue as to what wheel specs look good on s14's:http://www.rimtuck.com/thumbna...r+asc

Item #1 - Those aren't 9 inch wheels (most likely 17x7 +40)Item #2 - Those "mugs" will look terrible on your girl

I dont really have a budget just seeing what my options are for fairly cheap rims nothing to crazy expensive. maybe between 400-600.

You're not going to find anything new in that range except for Sportmaxx/XXR wheels, which will be more expensive in the long run because they will require spacers to achieve good fitment.

RWD cars are a little more pricey than FWD. To be honest, you're gonna need about $1000-$1200 minimum for something nice looking with good fitment for a 240sx, IMO.

Even good used wheels will run around $1200...

If you insist on staying with the 4 lug set up... there ain't much. I was determined to stick with 4 lug at first until I found out how truly limited it is.

For a s14, decent fitment (IMO) is something like 18x9.5+20 for starters. Rota P45R's fit the bill well but are becoming the most played out wheel EVER... They're so played out, I almost didn't want to recommend them to you. They are nice though. A good wheel with lots of sizes and colors schemes available.

Oh and they're cheap too... You should be able to get a set for around $750.

If you don't want knockoff wheels, like Rota's, try this site for used wheels: http://www.rbwheels.com/

Yeah see i love the way they look on s14's but like you said they are played out and everybody and their mommas got them but i guess for the money they're the best bet. and i dont care about knockoffs i heard rotas have a pretty decent rep. But i thank you again sir for the advice you are a wheel guru in my eyes!

Not so fast...

http://www.upgrademotoring.com...r.htm

Those don't come in 4x114.3 lug pattern. Not to mention their prices...

Now, if you wanna do a 5 lug swap, theres a myriad of possibilites open to you. I'm already 5 lug. Here's what I'm swapping to soon.

They are TSW Thruxton knockoff's that come in better sizes than the legit wheels. I'm getting 18x10+22 all around. They have a 5 inch lip. Price is between $250-$300 each depending on the color you get.

LOL... you're a funny guy...

When I got my first 240 I'd bought alot of things thinking "This isn't what I really want, but it'll do for now...". I'm still paying for the mistake of settling for lame stuff and not doing my research before buying things.

So my advice to you... Save up and then transform your ride into the hot chit with one fell swoop! Find a setup that really turns you on and save up for it. If that means you have to save up for coilovers & 5 lug first, do it. If you want P45R's, do it. Don't settle for chit! Running stock/OEM is better than running some subpar set up. Don't let your car have that 'awkward adolescent' phase...

-Get low on some coilovers-5 lug swap-Sexy wheels.

In that order. Patience and focus are the key.

Here's me running OEM while I save up to fix past mistakes...

And those are the 350 rims i was wanting to go for when i get 5 lug swap but i will take your advise and take my time do more research and execute like you say good chit.......mang! Hahahaha I really like your car good sir my first goal is to get her road bound instead of parking lot parked then ima clean her up something frosty then drop her then 5 lug then 350z rims or g35/37 which ever i get my mits on then motor build up boost and slide. Your car is my new background! Shes such a pretty gurl!!!

Thanks alot man. I used 2 sets of the rear wheels instead of the stock staggered setup. My ex-gf is driving that car right now and it needs some TLC big time, but I'm on top of it!

If your car is not roadworthy yet, then certainly, take care of all your maintanance before you start trying to upgrade stuff. Once that's done, and maybe around the same time you're planning on getting coilovers, I'd recommend replacing all your worn out rubber bushings with polyeurathane or aluminum bushings. That will go a long way towards improving your car's ride quality.

After you do this, go 5 lug and get good wheels, don't forget to invest in more suspension components to correct your suspension geometry if you plan to slam your car. I'm still saving for this phase as well, so I won't be the best to direct you from here, but NICO already has all the info you'll need!

Feel free to shoot me an email if you got questions...

I have an Energy Suspension Master Bushing kit that I need to install. It's all polyeurathane. The only thing I'd feel comfortable using the aluminum bushings on would be the subframe and diff. And maybe the steering rack bushings. Maybe.

I bought each wheel off ebay one at a time. I ended up having to buy 5 because one of the wheels turned out to be bent. Total, I think I spent about $700 including shipping for a set of 18x8.5+35. I had some 225/40/18's laying around so, I threw those on them.

Whenever you about to buy brand new wheels, not some hand me down/used stuff, I personally wouldn't put anything narrower than 9.5 inches wide on an s14. They can fit some pretty wide wheels for an import car.

hmmmm i see where your trying to go with by just using the aluminums on subframe and diff. I dont think i would like my car with 100% aluminum bushings that would be insane!

Yeah man... we live and we learn. Hopefully we don't screw things up too bad in the process or repeat the mistakes in the future...

I do like the direction you're taking your Z though. I saw some guys in the Z32 board giving you major hell over it. Screw those guys.

Yeah, I'm not that hardcore at all. I can understand that on an all out track car, but a street car still needs to be somewhat comfy, IMO.

If a female refuses to get into your car because of the chitty ride quality, what's the point? If it doesn't look nice and ride nice, they aren't gonna enjoy riding with you.

Whats wrong with his Z? Other then paint i think shes a pretty gurl!

Yes exactly I know i would love the stiffness when im drifting but for DD i would probably wanna kill myself!

And females usually dont like to ride with me they get scared that im gonna go to fast or drift at random AND I have only done that with one chick. But Your point is EXTREMELY valid and i agree 1000% about it riding like it has no give period! Do you anything about the spl fender and frame braces and how they make the car feel?

I read a thread where he was requesting pics of slammed Z32's with aggressive wheel fitment and alot of ppl bashed him saying slamming Z's is stupid and whatnot. Alot of those guys are what you'd call purists (or automotive prudes).

True, slamming a car can reduce it's handling abilities if not done properly (which is often the case). But if you're just driving on the street daily, who cares about having the maximum use of your handling ability? You're not gonna use it anyways! But if you're driving on the street daily, you do care about your car looking hot enough to drop panties as soon as you roll up. A nice slam and good wheels can be very effective towards this goal.

Try not to drive like a jackass on the street. Scaring girls with your driving isn't cool. I ran off a few nice pieces of a** like that when I was younger, trying to look all badass and cool... I failed.
S14Juggalo wrote: Do you anything about the spl fender and frame braces and how they make the car feel?
SPL has a stunningly stellar reputation. Feel comfortable in buying their products. I will buy from them in the future, especially since they're here in Texas, too. Maybe I can get a reduced rate. But do your homework, cause there are other great alternatives around too.

And the first tme i heard of spl aside from car audio was from you.

Just search 'SPL parts' and you'll find even more good reviews. Their stuff is tough to beat. They are highly recommended. Also, they are a sponsored NICO vendor. Check the classifieds for sales from them and other vendors.
