Hey guys

Im Dan Phillips from Tauranga, New Zealand.

I scored a '90 Nissan infiniti Q45 for cheap, it has the VH45DE engine (pictures up soon).

Recently i sold my C33 Nissan Laurel, powered by a 305kw/atw RB25det and am keen to get back into the car game.

Im keen to twin turbo the VH45de, leaving it in the Q45 to start with, eventually throwing it into another C33 or maybe a R32.

Sorry i know you guys must get this a bit, but the whole v8 thing is all new to me.

I have 2x standed rb25det turbo's and am able to fabricate manifolds and intercooler piping myself. Ive also got a spear 500hp fuel pump.

Would it be a good idea to use a thicker head gasket? Was thinking of using "Link G3" for engine mangement, mainly because it worked magic for my RB25.Anyone got an idea of what size injectors to use? What sort of hp/kw can these motors handle on stock internals?

Any help would be great, thanks

Welcome to the vh forum.......theres alot to learn from everybody that posts on the board. I personally lurk and read everything, posting when i think my input will be beneficial. I still havent read everything on this board.

For starters a thicker head gasket would be good.

The G3 should be more than adequate.

There is no definite injector size for those that are boosted.....they upgrade as necessary.

There are rumors of the vh handling 500hp on a stock block...theres been no definite numbers there either..

Now that you are a member take pride in our most prized tool...the search button. Search for everything, most likely its already been touched on.

DO NOT fit a thicker head gasket or spacer etc as it will reduce the quence and induce detonation. I'm running 10 psi (with avgas) on a standard VH45 and have no problems. Currently my truck has 280 rwkw (on 35" tyres) at 6000rpm without the VVT. That is on factory injectors and the heads haven't been off. I tried to use a Link ECU but they are such a piece of sh*t I took it out and set it back for a refund and fitted an Autronic SMC and CDI. More money up front but far easier to tune and far more reliable so saved a load in dyno time.I have a T04z and a 50mm wastegate. Feeds into a 3" exhaust and 2" from waste gate back to a 3" coby and 4" tailpipe. With that it is 94.7 db so LVVTA certified. If all you want is 300rwkw then factory injectors might be OK, a good tune and about 6-8 psi is all you should need. But I'd go bigger than a 500hp fuel pump. Go for a Bosch 044, a bit dearer but you don't want fuel supply issues. As soon as money is better I'm fitting bigger injectors and dropping the boost a bit (so more dyno time) with the goal of 300rwkw on 98ulp. I'm tired of carting avgas to comps all the time.
