Welcome to NICO! We are glad to have you around as it sounds like you will be a good person to have around here.

I would love to hear all about your Z's (i.e. what you have done with them), and see many pics!

here is a questions no one answered for me -- you seem like the guy to answer it best ! actually two questions

Hey guysi need your brains once again -- my 90 na z 2+2 zx has had hesitation problems most of the year - bad o2's - fixed bad o2's again -- the question i have concerns the cats -- i read somewhere that bad o2 sensors can destroy your cats & clog them ?? is this true ?? i am replacing them with test pipes next week -- but i still seems like the power is down comparing it to my previous 90 NA z ??

hey guys -- are there really some online mechanics in thisforum ?? i have been trying to get a question answered by a professional -- anyway short story -- had headers and new o2 sensors put on several months ago -- had hesitation before -- that fixed the problem -- then it returned -- got to looking and the o2 sensors wire was sitting on the header -- anyway -- took it back out to get it replaced after running the diagnostic -- it was the o2 sensor but the wire was not totally burn through to be visible -- could the increased heat still cause the sensor to go bad ?? the o2 sensor was only about 6 mos old -- they originally going to charge me for the sensor but i talked them out of it -- what do you think ??

hey here is my best opinion on your o2 problem if those wires melt even if its not the whole way thru thats a problem those are what the call shielded wires since a o2 runs a such a low voltage even radio waves can effect the signel people with big sterio systems i have watched the kicking bass change the 02 voltage crazy huh? with all the wireing under the engine bay creating magnetic interferance a unshielded wire can cause major problems

and as for pluged cats i see them all the time you have a car running lean for to long it can melt the pladium roidum and platium in those cats and sela it shut or cats with alot of milage can come apart and clog up a muffler or the pipes behide it as rule of thumb we clean or replace the whole exast when a cat comes apart

i hope i anwsered all your questions if not hit me back

one more thing about o2 sensors i forgot it add and somthing that bugs the hell out of me people that have crappy narow band air fuel gauges unless you just wanna look pretty and replace o2 sensors these things are CRAP! when you splice into you o2 to use them your changing the signal that your computer gets and you putting extra load on your sensor so it runs worse and ruins your sensor not to mention there useless they show you what the computer sees cross counts now unless your a math wiz and count the cross counts and compute them into lamba in your head in .054 milseconds they tell you nothing excet that senor is working right if you didn't have your gauge hooked up now if you want a a/f gauge save your money get a wide band with its own sensor that will tell you whats up and help you turn your car not destroy it a/f is the most over looked and most important ting to gettin your car running at your best your crappy 60$ gauge wont tell you anything sorry if i offened anyone but no one i have ever talked that has these gauges understood what they are seeing or doing to there car so just letting people know
