Hello my name is luis medina and my nissan story starts in 1996 when my brother bought his first car a 1985 nissan 200sx turbo, after he junked the car a coupke years later and bought a new camaro I was left with the seed im my head of the s-12.
About a month ago i was browsing the net and saw a picture of a 200sx notchback, so needless to say that I searched for this "200sx turbo + sale" and hits came out of no where not even related to the car, so i decided to take my time and look trough as many as posible and there it was the nicoclub tread "200sx for sale" by dragon_84. i thought it would already be sold so i put it to my favorites and forgot about it.
An other day i was looking trough my favorites and saw it again and saw the e-mail adress and I sent him an E-mail asking if the car was still for sale, for a while i waited to hear from him and gave up hope.
So i cheked my mail one day and there it was "RE:200sxturbo" so i opened it and the reply was that he still had the car. After e-mails back and forth i told him that i wanted the car and i will come to fayetville and pick it up.
on november 19, 2008 I drove to fayetville n.c. left lexington at 7:30am and was in fayetville at 10:45ish looking for the place where i was to meet dragon_84, after finding w-m I proceded to drive to clinton n.c about an hour and ten minutes outside of fayetville to pick up the dolly to tow the car home with.
When i got to clinton and picking up the dolly, I noticed something that should have been checked before leaving lexington, !!! THERE WAS NO HITCH BALL ON THE TRUCK!!! And i thought to my self (duchebag) so i looked around to see if i could find one.
Aftter the dilema with the hitchball solved i proceeded to driveback to fateville around twelve fiftyish, with the dolly straped on the ranger and about a half time little bigger than the ranger i dont even think i was looking ahead on the narrow road of highway 24, i was just looking on the passanger side mirror and playing "KEEP THE DOLLY TIRE ON THE WHITE LINE" and also evading the big rigs coming back and forth.
In fateville at w-m i was there at around two something cant remember but I was way early and I waited, called dragon_84 let him know i was there, ( i should let you know we were supposed to meet at 4:30) so I waited , and waited, and waited, called him back at 4 something after the time passed that we were supposed to meet and he told me he was on his way.
after hitching the car to the back of the ranger started driving back home with a few bucks and the car that i always wanted. and I was impressed with the ranger it did not struggle with the load and it impressed me.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 20, 2008 TRIED TO JUMP THE BATTERY BUT ITWAS DEAD, THE STARTER TURNED OVER BY ITSELF AND I THOUGHT "GREAT THE STARTER IS BAD OR WORSE THE FLY WHEEL IS BUSTED" LOTS OF THING WENT TROUGH MY HEAD SO I TOOK IT OFF AND TOOK IT TO GET TESTED TO MAKE SURE, BROUGHT IT BACK AND PUT IT IN, WITH THE ELECRICAL CIRCUIT I FOUND ON THE COMPUTER I HOTWIRED THE CAR AND IT HAPPENED THE ENGINE TURNED OVER (SIGH) WICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT ITEM.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2008 DROVE TO CHARLOTTE N.C. TO THE JUNK YARD ON N. TRYON ST (WICH YOU CAN SEE AND CANT MISS IT) AND FOUND TWO NOTCH BACKS BUT IT DID NOT HAVE THE IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTIONS THAT I NEEDED, THE CONNECTIONS I FOUND IT ON A 1985 SENTRA, THE NEXT THING NEEDED WAS THE MASSAIRFLOW SENSOR WICH I ALSO GOT FROM A NEWLY JUNKED SENTRA AT THAT PLACE IM GLAD TO SAY THAT I WAS THE FIRST TO LAY A WRENCH ON IT AND USE IT FOR PARTS.
ALSO THE 200SX HATCH BACK NEEDS A WINDSHIELD, WICH I FOUND ON ONE OF THE NOTCH BACK AND IT WAS GOOD, I PROCEEDED TO TAKE IT OFF AND AT THE LAST SIX INCHES SIX! THE STAINES STEEL CABLE STARTED TO CUT THE GLASS AND WEAKEND IT, WHEN I TRIED TO TAKE IT OUT IT BROKE AND I WAS PISSED OFF!!! SO I DECIDE TO GO TO THE OTHER NOTCH BACK AND SEE WHAT I COULD SALVAGE WICH WAS A GOOD THING CAUSE I FOUND THE DASH INTACT AND IN GOOD CONDITION NOT A CRACK ON IT.. SO I TOOK MY TIME AND SAW HOW IT ALL CAME TOGHETHER CAUSE I HAVE NEVER TAKEN A NISSAN APART.
BACK AT MY COUSINS HOUSE I GOT A FRESH BATTERY AND PUT THE IGNITION CABLES THAT IT NEEDED BACK IN AND TURN THE KEY AND.........
FIRST THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ALIVE WITH ALL ITS DIGITAL LIGHTS AND THEN THE ENGINE TURNED OVER AND........
VAROOOOOM!!! IT STARTED WITH AN EXHAUST LEAK AND A COUPLE OF BOLTS MISSING THE TURBO SPOOLING AND THE MASSAIRFLOW SENSOR NOT ON THE GRID THE CAR FLOODED AND TRIED TO START IT AGIN AND IT WOULD NOT, SO I SAID " GREAT I ****ED SOMETHING UP NOW" AFTER FINISHING COVERING THE STEERINGWHEEL COLUMN AND TURNED THE KEY TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO LOOSE CONNECTIONS IT STARTED AGAIN (SIGH) AND NOW IM BACK IN BUSSINESS I GOT PICS AND VIDEO AND I GOT TO GET THEM UP AND POSTED RIGHT NOW I GOT TO GET SOME PIPING AND SOME EXHAUST BOLTS TO HEAR THAT TURBO SPOOOOOOOL!!!!
ILL KEEP THIS PROJECT UPDATED.
