january 31 2010--$300 1990 240 sx shell ... first build ever(not a nissan guy at all either so take it easy on me)

got the car dropped off at the house and started cleaning it out, and poking around the car.checked out the car found 5 dents 3 on the passenger side quarer pannel these are very small(about pea sized).on the driver side door there is a spot where it looks like someones door hit it. and right behind the drivers door right above the side skirt is the worst looks like someone kicked it (about 4x5 inches)the rear hatch is in baaaad condition it has that super awsome foam spoiler on it that looks like someone tryed to rip offresulting in a lot of rust, all windows are intact except the front...has 3 chips in it.

iside the car there was the stock cluster as well as a 300zx cluster,1 window regulator, both side windows, steering wheel and horn, a pop up sunroof, a black dash with a small scrape above the cluster, door moulding, exterior b pilliar cover, and a bunch of leaves and acorns i believe i bought a squirl house not a car lol.

i started cleaning out under the hood got about %35 done also removed the heat and a/c as well as blower motor.

plans for the week are, strip the faded window tint, get the bay stripped and cleaned then sanded down, and primed

the plan for this car is to be a weekend, backroad toy and im gonna try some auto x and maybe check out a track or two.im not looking for a horse power monster ..im kinda aiming for a good looking reliable car that i can have fun with.

most of you guys im sure are gonna say somthing bout the heat and ac thing but oh well i dont need it my daily driver dosent have it and im fine with that. i dont plan on putting the interior back in either (except the dash) i do plan on caging this car and dont see the point in spending money for interior when my budget is tight enough as is. so im keeping it simple... cheap cd player, seats , harnesses ,shift knob and steering wheel.

im not sure what motor im going to go with yet..either a ka24d-t or a sr20det, still trying to decide on that

febuary 8 2010

alright i got my motor, transmission, ecu, plugs, wires, oil pan gasket, radiator, alternator belt, radiator hoses, maf sensor, and seats in the car i still have to put in my fluids, vss, fuel cell, filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, shifter new steering wheel( i have all of it just need to throw it in)

and a few more parts to get.... tps, battery, injectors, inline pump, exhaust, shocks and springs, and wheels and tires and if im feelin up to it a cd player

some pics before and afterfebuary 9 2010

before

after

fubuary 16 2010got all the stuff for the fuel system didnt take pic of everything only what i have at work with me lol

alright so last month my timing belt broke in my daily driver so iv been splitting my funds so i havent got the 240 running yet but iv picked up a bunch of random stuff

first off the decals my wife wanted were plain hello kittie ...(she will be driving the car as well) i orderd hello kittie with the good ole ak47 ...i can deal with that

found some rims and tires on craigslist for 150 so i got them im gonna change the tires out and eventualy buy differnt rims and use these as spares but there icw 18 with 215 35 18 -off brand tires right now ...dont you love that wheel gap ? h&r sport springs and yb shocks can blow me loloh and i got some 8 mm spacers that arent on in the pic

got the rest of my interior (dont pay attention to the switches they dont do anything it was jut to show its gonna just be a plate there ...also i picked up a kenwood cd player for $5 and i got a nifty motorized tray i plan on sticking my i pod in for another $5

got a deepdish steering wheel witha quick release ...it sticks out mad far so im gonna get another hub

and i got my trunk area done this week ...all primed black and then layed down some beastly thick mdf for the base and covered in black carpet ...out in my purple skrut barz and mounted my fuel pump and filter ...filter is under the car where the old gas tank used to be (it didnt have one when i bought the car and ill be damned if i could find one without a hole in any parts yard)

got an 11 row oil cooler with no leaks for $5 wont be used till i turbo...but i got it and it cool lol

and lastly my babys moma got me these for my bday ...and aparently theres somthing else comming saturday (god i hope it new seats lol)

Nice start. But For Real Get some 200sx seatbelts to replace that harness before you die in it. I don 't wanna even know where you anchored those straps.

Yeah the hole in the gas tank at the junkyard is mandatory. im wondering how much weight you lost with the fuel cell. you may as well move the battery to the trunk while your there, at least that will give you some more weight back there. looking good so far.

breadbox i replaced the seat bots with one that is 1/2cm longer(same bot grade tho) to accomidate the bracket on the harness its how iv done it in previous cars and trucks and it works well

warped161 im not sure how much weight was saved but the idea seemed good to me to have the tank more above the rear axel for better weight distribution but i dont know how much the stock tank weighs but i know this 12 gal cell is no more than 5 lbs when empty

all others thanks for the welcome!
