I've been a Z guy for many years, still have 2, one project and one daily driver. However, I have found myself with an offer I couldn't refuse on an 89 S13. The engine and trans were rebuilt in 05, looking at the car it looks to be in good shape, has factory spoiler, front lip, and alloys, no moonroof though. The reason the guy is getting rid of the car is rust, which is really only on the under side.
So here's my dilemma, he parked the car last year since he couldn't get it inspected, now it sits in ruts up to the edge of the alloys, Battery is pretty well shot, even jump starting it won't quite turn over, but it is turning (I'm guessing old gas) and once I pushed the clutch it dropped to the floor with NO resistance and won't come back up. Being in ruts that deep I can't see the underside all that well, or try bleeding the clutch just yet, but what I'd like to do is get the car running and moved. I don't need a permanent fix, just enough to have the clutch work for about 5 min.
I haven't dealt much with cars that have sat, nor am I very familiar with the S chassis, so any suggestions on getting the car "good enough" to move around would be great. For example, would simply bleeding the clutch help or if the slave cylinder is no good all of the sudden could I dump fluid in to make it function long enough for my uses. I wish I'd checked more on the car like the brakes, but when I looked at it it was pouring and I was concerned more with getting out of there. What else should I be looking at? Thanks in advance.
Upon seeing the site more this may be in the wrong section, I posted here originally because I saw other posts that seemed not as technical, if mods could move this to the correct place I would appreciate it.
