hi my name is eric and i am new to the maxima's but not new to nissans. i have had 3 240sx's in the last 5 years and have 2 now along with the maxima.

my new maxima is a 95 with 248xxx miles.dont know much about these cars yet but i do know they are reliable as hell since its got 248xxx miles lol. one thing that is worrying me is that when i first purchased the car i checke the oil and it was below low so i replenished the oil and just yesterday i checked it again and it was below low again so im beginning to think if its burning oil or the valve cover gaskets are shot? is this a normal deal with maximas to burn oil? probly not but il check it anyways here are some pics of my new maxima.

the new maxima wheels i installed the first day i got em,i had them on my black hatch (look at sig) i think it needs a drop already

i paid 1,000 for it and i think its the best grand i have ever paid for anything haha only problem it had was it drained the battery overnight-the cause was it had a ghey aftermarket alarm that had a remote start that would turn the acc. on randomly which drained the battery so i yanked that ish out haha. one question if i get a new keyfob for the keyless entry can i reprogram it via the tech pages or would it not work since the last owners installed an aftermarket one? thanks for looking, and i am open to all thougts or comments.

The 6th gen wheels look excellent. Some of my favorite wheels ever. Great choice.

Not normal for it to burn oil, but at 248k miles it's hard to know what it's been put through.

There's a how-to for programming the keyless remote in the FAQ thread.

welcome! im new here too but ive worked on my max for a little bit. its hard to check the oil on them bec. they dont have a separate tube for the dipstick, it actually goes in the block. ill recomend to do the whole oil change and put a new filter in it and only put 4.2 qts. of oil in it. thats a very reliable car and take good care of it.

thanks, and as for the oil burning the valve cover under the intake looks brown not silver like the front one that means oil is leaking haha looks like i have work to do hehe

i havent gotten around to remove them i am focusing alot of time into my black 240 it is rusting bad so i will be stripping it all down to bare chassis and cutting/welding new pieces.
