In april i brought home a 1995 J 30 Infiniti, peral white. I test drove the car it was good only that in need was a muffler. I bring the car home and it start leaking the mechanic said it needs a water pump, also some shocks and structs. I was upset after paying what i did for it for it to messed up so i put it on craiglists to sell it and no one was interested in it, so i decided to keep it. to my knowledge some parts they don't have aftermarket. I need to know if i should keep it i need a possbile engine jsut ot be safe, i have a water pump and i need some sturcts and shocks, now if i go to the junk yard which might be better i wonder if i will find the parts. I have mixed issues, in keeping and selling if i do sell it i am selling for 1800 as is so someone give a feedback , I'm broke college student and i know this sounds cray but i ad no clue that infinit's were expensive to keep up, I wouldn;t have gotten the car

Welcome to NICO!!!

If you got the dough and have some mechanical aptitude you can DIY project fix it yourself and drive it. Infiniti's for the most part have little aftermarket, most things are OEM, especially on a vehicle like the J, which shares little with anything else in the Nissan/Infiniti North American lineup.

Check our sponsors for parts, they are cheaper than your local dealer.

Infiniti is a premium auto brand. Not like a run- of-the-mill Chevy. Just like Lexus, Bimmers, Mercs, etc you gotta pay to play. Upkeep will be expensive.

If your a college student, and can't send your parents the repair bill - then get rid of the J30 hands down. You have to have some mechanical ability and some extra cash to keep up the J30. If you take the car to the dealer every time it has a problem, you will be broke.

New struts, shocks, and a water pump will be over 2K...
