What's up??? I just purchased a 2008 versa S 6spd.. I sold my G35 coupe because I simply couldn't afford it anymore. Between the gas prices and non-warranty repairs it wasn't making sense.. So I picked up my new '08 black V. My wife agreed that I could start work on it pretty soon and I think it's most in need of some nice 17" wheels and 40 series tires. And maybe drop it and inch to inch and a half.. I want to make it clean. The Versa badge is coming off tonight. I was hoping I could get some help with wheel selection. I don't have the time to shop everywhere like I did on the G so any help on a clean look would be nice. Also need suspension advice. I don't think Tein has a versa setup and those are the springs I'm most familiar with... Last question, is it possible to install a flat monitor stereo? I really don't like the telescope screens that unfold...Thanks for any help, PatrickP.S. I was called Illegal Speed on the G35Driver forums if anyone is familiar..

The dual DIN format of the Versa is PERFECT for the all in one DVD/NAV flat screen systems. Lots of options and units available.

I kind of like the mst wheels myself. Their website mstwheels.com has a wheel virtualizer thingy so you can see what the car will look like if you drop it and put the wheels on.

Well, picked it up this morning and they couldn't get the S model so they gave me a SL for the same price. Since I already turned in my car I guess they had to deliver something of equal or greater value so I'm stoked... Yeah, maintenance on the G was getting high. It was getting expensive just keeping the G in mint condition. It'll be cheaper to fix up the V. The G was starting to have minor repairs and I took it as a warning sign of larger repairs in the future. I guess first thing to do is to drop it a few. I got the non-hubcap wheels. They are small, but at least they aren't caps so I'll get wheels later.. any suggestions on suspension?

I'm lovin' my Tanabe NF210'S right now surprisingly enough. They drop your car an inch and a half. Although I like the flush look it comes pretty close for NF's. I would've honestly preferred Tanabe DF210's, Tein S-Techs, or coilovers (expensive!!!).

I just got my car 3 weeks ago and the springs drop it enough where it looks great and I can still carry people in the back so it's pretty satisfying. So for now I would go with the NF210. And by the way 17's look good with it also.

As mentioned there are a few springs for the Versa out, all are about the same. And look around on http://versaspeed.com for other items (strut bar, exterior, acessories, etc).

And Welcome.

I have the tanabe springs with 18's and I would whole heartedly suggest that 17's be the max wheel size that you get for your V...at 18 the ride is just too rough..probably be looking to sell mine sometime in the future.

Thanks for the help everyone.. Those springs look like the right choice, because everyone here has them I am assuming that they aren't too short for the shocks and the warrenty on the car isn't going to be messed up.. I was thinking about having the wheels painted black to match the car, but man they are soo thin... Pizza cutters all around.. I'll start posting pics when some stuff going.. Thanks again..

They void suspension related warrenty or the whole burrito? I can always pull the switch back to stock before going in for work but man is that a ton of work.. Or could get the suspension switched at the dealership.. I believe they have tein coilovers. $$$$

Well im not EXACTLY sure but i think its the whole "burrito" lol.And yeah, that was my plan too, i told myself that its the best plan out there, when i got problems i could switch it to stock springs and take it into the shop!but everything became a disaster untill i got to installing the tanabe's.I saw how much of a pain in the *** it was to install and i imagined un-installing them and yeah..there goes my plan. lolaand as for coilovers, if yur willing to spend about 800$ then i would recommend tanabe's, im not sure if the tein's are out yet, but you could check.

Yeah, I remember taking my old civic in and having to switch the headers, intake and exhaust. It was horrible. I never switched my coilovers, they never said any thing about them. I would rather not have to do the switch. I'll probably go to the dealership and see what they have that won't void the warrenty. There's a huge diffrence between $200 and $1000... I hate being responsible, it's so much cheeper not giving a F#%@.. LOL

damn dude that sounds like hell, lol mustve been a bi##h taking all of those things out huh?

well i guess it depends on the dealership, like how cool the people are.For an example, my dealership, theyre f'n a-holes son. Theyre strict and they would get on yur nerves so quickk, so im not even dealing with them at all. But yea go ahead and check it out see what they say.yeahhh i know, being responsible does suckk-especially when its something big or involves MONEY.

Post some pics dude..i wanna see the versa!!
