Hey guys, im from Southern MD. Played around a lot with other cars but never got the chance to get a 240. Been trying to come up on something for about almost 2 years now. And a few days a go a 1997 240sx Shell showed up at my front yard. My room mates dad runs a tow truck company and Wala! my front door haha. He let it go for cheap so this will be my new project over the next year or so. Im not the professional mechanic or anything but i think i can get it done. Il post pictures tomorrow when the sun is out! :mike

Welcome aboard! You don't need to be a pro, we've all built 240's, so you just need to hang out here and do a lot of reading. :)

She does have a transmission sitting in placement for a driver seat but I will get into specifics once i can get a chance to get it off the truck and clean it out.

I see some stitch welding of the engine bay - that's a plus. You've got your work cut out for you, brother!

Great news! I'm proud of what i got my hands on. Just time to take my game serious now. First goal would to just get it rolling. and finish her body. just need to not make the same mistakes on my last vehicle and do a bit more research and attention to detail in my readings. appreciate the support.

So today I cleaned out my baby, hardly. just pulled out everything and sucked up all the dirt etc. The front end is really starting to get get me. This was cut and welded for a swap. question is what swap? so i took some close ups to see if maybe one of you smarties can take a look at it and maybe give me some more insight. Maybe give me some information on what the previous owners plans could have been? enough talking i know we all like pictures!

First things on the list. 100% COMPLETE! Front and Rear suspension! down to the nuts and bolts! If anyone is in the Southern MD area and knows of a good budget source please do not hesitate. Craigslist is lacking good threads this month in my area.

I'll keep an eye on the DC and fredericksburg craigslist ads for you.

As for if the car was cut up, it doesn't look like it to me. The previous guy stitched the seams and then painted.

just interested in his motive. I look at the bay and cant seem to wonder what the previous owner was trying to do with it.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ ... 26599.html

This guy has a full rear subframe with all the suspension arms still attached as well as random interior parts.

It looks like he doesn't have the hubs attached in the subframe pic. I have some 5 lug GT-R hubs sitting around which I could sell you for super cheap just to get the car rolling for you. They use the same axle spline as a TT Z32, so they're useless for an S-chassis other than just to have something to attach a wheel to.

Did bernie get you all of the mounting hardware for the subframe? I have some spare bits from my J30 subframe you can have if he didn't (nuts and washers for the mounting studs). Did he have the hubs still?

Weird question, but i saw something earlier that caught my attention. is it possible to use z32 rotors with evo 8 calipers on an s14? Is that common or was this one individual the only? not a lot of s14 parts come around here but we doe have quite a few 300zx's and a lot of evos.
