I just recently bought myself a 2003 G35 sedan. I love it except for a problem here and there. First off, my power outlet on the right side doesn't work. I replaced the fuse and it has blown 3 times in a row. I am fearing that it may be a short in the wiring. Also, the leather inserts on the doors...on my driver door, it is coming undone. Am I only able to simply tuck it back in and glue it or can I do it more professionally by taking out the insert and fixing it? Would that be easy to do? Thanks.

Welcome to Nicoclub Doug!

I don't have any experience with the wiring issue or the side molding, but I just wanted to let you know that one of the "smart" guys around here will surely be able to help you out. Congratulations on the new purchase and good luck with your minor repairs!

Try the search button at the top of the screen to see if anyone else has had this issue before and if has been resolved... there is also a "How to" sticky thread in the technical section of the site. Be sure to post pics of the new ride as we love to see PICS!

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you!

Welcome,Dave

Unless you have experience, a wiring and shop manual you may want to have a pro either at the dealer or a high end auto audio shop that has experienced techs in troubleshooting automobile electrical problems. Just my $.02

Tracing wiring can present a challenge at times?

Welcome to NICO!

I'd have a dealer look at the power outlet. The door leather can be fixed with spray adhesive.

Thanks everyone! I actually haven't even taken any pictures of it yet for myself. I bought the car a couple of days before Christmas. I then left for a school on New Years and didn't get back until mid February. I am just starting to settle back down, so I will take pictures ASAP. I am really not sure what I want to do with the car yet. I am only 18 years old and saved up all of the money to buy the car. I really like the new G35/37 and have thought that in about three years I will actually have a real job and could afford to get one of those used. My dash has a couple of scratches and then one or two dings in it and with me being OCD I have thought about things to change about it. I wouldn't want an adhesive dash kit. I have a feeling that true replacement pieces must be rather expensive. From what I know, everything about the car is stock. The previous owner was a lease so nothing has been touched. Does anybody have any suggestions of changes that won't break the bank but can really make a difference? Once again, thanks for the welcoming to the forums and I will try and get pictures within a couple of days.

the leather upholstery on the doors...

i used a 3M super adhesive that has been working. Taking the door off wont really help you fix it any easier, so just get some inside on both sides, let it dry a little, then stick together and tuck it in. Should be good to go.

Use 3M super 77. It comes in a can and is available at lowes, etc. Spray some on a scrap piece of cardboard to avoid overspray, and apply with a straw or popsicle stick to both areas. You will not need a lot of glue to make this work, so use sparingly.

depending on where your scratches are and if they have one for your model year. and in paticular I am refering to the suede ones which dont look bad...but not the rest of the velour and carpet stuff which is IMO quite nasty. LOL
