hey guys! im new to the forums and to 300zx....im from jersey and i just picked up this mint 1988 n/a 2 seater with black leather that is mint!! it juts hit 89K and needs a new clutch! anyone kno any good brands? I always wanted one of these back in high school but could never really afford a nice one. So the reason i bought this car was so it could be my new daily driver and so that i can work on my VDUB(its 2L turbo engine is awaiting transplant) ...but im in love with this car and i wanna modify it already... i just bought a wing but i might be selling it already as it was kind of an impulse buy....although ive been told its pretty rare and is discontinued...Its kinda bigger than i thought it was so i dont know if Im gunna keep it...id rather have the smaller turbo spoiler... lol..anywho I hope i can gather some info here and enjoy this forum...let me kno wut u guys think of this beauty The Z with the VDUBMy VDUB

I believe he means how the majority of the car is black and the lower side skirts and front "spoiler" is grey.

It's how almost all 87-89 models came.

It's funny. The Z31 is the bastard child of the Z family.

The typical older Z owner doesn't look at anything beyond the 280Z, and they only tollerate the 280ZX since it closely resembles the original.

The typical Z32 owner won't look at the Z31 since it "isn't as fast as their twin turbo".

And the typical Z33 owner is only barely aware there was a Z car before their 350Z.

The typical Z31 owner is 16 to 22 years old and can barely afford the gas, but still continuously ask about a VG30DETT swap while day dreaming about Volk racing wheels.

Of course, there are exceptions to the above "rules".

az-zbum ...i think u hit the nail on the head with those observations though i havent been here that long it seems ur correct...i found another forum today and i heard it was a mix of all Z generations....all i can find in there is one z31 and a million 280z and below..... hehe i love the body lines of the z31 and its an excellent car i dont get why it doesnt get as much respect....but kudos to zbum for making taht great website! very informational!

I love the car man! Welcome. I have two Z32's but I woud love to own a Z31. They are damn nice looking in my opinion. I wish i could get ahold of one of the anniversary turbo cars. The silver and black two tone with the gold accents makes me wet in the pants!
