Well this is my first post on the forum and I thought I would introduce myself and get some Altima insight from fellow members.
I am no stranger to automotive forums. I have been a member of Club3G.com (Mitsubishi Eclipse Forum) and I am currently a member of FocusFanatics.com.
My current cars are a 1997 Nissan Altima and a 2002 Ford Focus SVT with a Magnaflow Catback, FocusSport short shifter and painted interior, nothing too special. I will have the SVT paid off by Christmas and was begining to look for something in the sport sedan area. I have a 1 year old daughter and having 4 doors is a MUST!
The Altima SE-R has caught my attention and for the past few months I have been doing some researching and wandering around the forum as a guest and decided to finally become a member.
I am looking for a 2006, Smoke Metallic, with a 6 speed. I have found two potential SE-R's. One is located in Maryland, has 51k and is going for $16,990 and the other is located in Georgia, has 38k miles and is priced at $16,995.
The similar prices and 13k mile difference kind of show the range of pricing for an SE-R. The one in Maryland has a clean CarFax but the one in Georgia only shows me the CarFax with just the amount of records on the vehicle. So maybe the one in GA has some marks on the CarFax, which would explain the lower price?
The SE-R's seem to range from the mid-$15k all the way up to $20k. The majority of the ones I am finding have little to no modifications done so it seems to be based mostly on location of the vehicle.
I had called up a dealer in New Jersey who had a 2006 Smoke with an Automatic, 45k miles going for $19,995 and I asked why the price was considerably higher than KBB or NADA pricing and he told me that the Altima SE-R was a "high demand" vehicle and thats why most dealers are asking between $1500 and $3000 over KBB/NADA.
Either way, I was hoping that the use of the forum could assist me in my upcoming purchase of an Altima SE-R. Thanks.
