Greetings all!

I am picking up my new Black G37 Convertible on Monday and need some feedback on two topics that I am undecided about.

1. Should I spend $695 for the Nano car sealant that they are trying to sell me? It comes with a 7 year warranty and they said it should be applied on Dark cars to protect the finish against bird droppings, acid rain, etc... It also includes scotch guarding the interior as well as covering punctures of the leather seats. What do you think?

2. They are trying to sell me a prepayment package of service for $1700 so that all the normal service charges for like 6 years is free. They say it is a $2800 value for only $1700 and it locks you in against price increases. What do you think?

Thanks alot!

Make sure to find out if everything is covered with the service plan. I remember paying almost 800 dollars for the 60K service on my Infiniti at the dealership. If everything is covered then I'd go for it, that is if you are planning to keep your car for a very long time to come.

Nice need pictures as soon as you pick it up. Black G hm.....

What do you mean regular maint? Include everything or just oil changes etc. If just the basic you better off DIY and save the $$$

Congrats again and don't forgret to hook us up with some sexy pictures.

In my opinion it is a waste of money.

Another waste of money IMHO. Keep the $1700 in a separate bank account for service.

I took the Infiniti Elite extended warranty when I was just under 50k miles. It covers additional items that the original factory does not cover but I really didn't get my moneys worth. I usually decline extended warranties but I put on 2k miles a month so I decided to take it. My G has been a very reliable vehicle. On my next G I'll just set up a reserve account for vehicle expenses.I just did my 35th oil change and changed the air and cabin filters and tire rotation. If you do basic maintenance yourself you can save quite a bit of $$$.

Just my $.02

Good luck with your new G and welcome to NICO

Yes I am. We are picking it up on Monday. We shopped Bedord and Bolan on the West side. Bedford gave us the better deal

Nah it isn't worth it than. They basically cover inspection and oil changes, airfilter and cabin airfilter. Rest you have to pay for. Save that money.

Ask them how much the oil change is.

You can get oil change for 30-40. You can buy airfilter and repalce it yourself. 5 minutes job top. If you buy the washable you pay only once and keep cleaning it. Maybe 60 for a set of 2. Cab airfilter another 20 or so.

You don't need a rental car for regular service. They can do it in 1 hour.

++++++++++++++

Bedford is a good dealership. I worked with Jerry Slagle on a possible lease, but that didn't pan out.

Anyway, the G37x I got in Columbus offered me the Elite 2 for 39 mth/45K mile for $650. You must have been quoted the Elite 2 schedule for 60K miles.

also, here's what the Columbus dealer listed as expenses for a typical maintenance schedule:

7,500 mile maint: $186.84

15K, 45K, 75K maint: $429.24

30K, 60K, 90K maint: $900 for the x, $785 for other G models

seems to me i'll save some $$ for buying the Elite 2 for $650.
