How's it going everyone. I came across this forum and have been checking it out. Everyone here seems to be pretty cool and helpful so i thought i would join. I've had my 350z about 6 months now and am loving it. This thing hugs the roads way better than my cobra did. Now i just want the rwhp that my cobra had. I not that familiar with the aftermarket industry for these cars, just looking to get the most hp for my buck. Anyway, glad to be a part of the forum now and hope to get to know all of you.

depending on the year of the cobra the Z is pretty dang close and a bit lighter just a bit lacking in the torque department, see the sticky on real HP gains for documented results from various mods

welcome! i just bought a nismo cai from thenismoshop.com for $189.46. I believe its still on sale, along with the nismo strut tower bar and some other things. It's actually a nissan dealer from west covina, cali so you know its legit! I also found a pretty sweet deal on nismo lmgt4's on sale for $300 a piece at mynismo.com but probably not gonna get soon enough. Welcome again! Modding is addicting...

Be sure to check out everything in the "350z FAQ & General Info" thread that is stuck at the top of the 350z forum. You may find some answers there.

As far as mods go, there are so many out there its hard to choose the right one. A little tip: stay away from knock off stuff, the goods are engineered for a reason - they work better than the knock offs/ebay specials.

Be sure to do your research on products - #1 being "ask the guys on NICO".....

Welcom to NICO!

thanks for the welcome and all the info, i will definatly do my research on all these aftermarket parts. I already have SES Injen cat-back and the Injen CAI and am really happy with both. Ultimately, I want to do a built motor with a twin turbo setup but that is on down the road. As far as the cobra, it was a 2003 with 515rwhp 500rwtq. It was a beast and i loved the power but insurance was $347 a month with a clean driving record and didn't get great mpg.

if you put forced induction on the Z you can got htose numbers as well, you're stck cobra made around 300 hp stock about what the Z makes, only the Z does it with a 3.5 V6 and ford does it with a 4.6 V8, so the Z won't see as large of gains form similar mods as it was more efficient to begin with

they stock 03-04 cobras made 390rwhp, all i had was a ported blower at 14psi, longtube headers, slp cat-back, intake, bigger heat exchanger, and a safe tune making 515rwhp. From what i've been reading, correct me if i am wrong, the z gets around 400rwhp (give or take) with a power adder on the stock motor. So if i built the motor and ran more boost i should easily see those numbers, right? the only thing is, i want to get that low and mid range power that the roots style blower got on the cobra with a twin turbo set up on the Z. Is that possible?
