Kinda pointless honestly, you have an auto, and its a CVT. that negates the purpose of a two-step which is something used on a manual!

well not even a two step just a limiter. when i do bracket races i race in the manual mode, and the last couple races i was in i missed a gear cause the car shifted at the same time i did. so i just want to solve that problem

How can you miss a gear? its an auto, and its a CVT (which has no gears). Please dont think im being mean but neither a limiter or 2 step will do any good for you, just pay attention to the rpms. A no-step is used with manuals. Nice to hear you race bracket though, what times you run?

It shouldn't be hard to do with an UpRev tune. We've considered removing the rev limiter and auto-upshift altogether in manual mode, but we're not sure how much the CVT can handle. I have a valet mode with a rev limiter set to 1,500RPM and a top speed of 7mph. Boy is it annoying. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do a 2-step with UpRev, however.

leaving it in "D" is faster... It's not consistent, but it's faster. leaving it in "D" I ran a 13.9, another 13.9, 14.0, 14.1, 14.2 and I think even a 14.3. all in the same day.

Bracket racing is all about consistency, couldnt care less how fast a car is, if you aren't consistent you wont get anywhere except for the trial runs before eliminations :(.

I'd talk to an UpRev dealer to see what's possible and what's not. There's quite a lot that can be done. http://www.uprev.com/dealers.php

Regardless of the 2-step, a properly tuned UpRev ROM will give you a little bit more power, and a lot more low-end torque which has helped me tremendously with my launches. Here's what we did, and some dyno graphs in result: http://www.zcarblog.com/2012/04/13/perf ... wners.html.

It's a challenge to dyno a CVT, and most tuners won't even bother trying. If you're in Nor Cal, check out Z Car Garage in SJ. They tuned my CVT Altima and mrmurphz' CVT Maxima. The stock air/fuel ratios were completely illogical. The main benefits came from adjusting a/f ratios and cam timing. I've improved my highway fuel efficiency (using cruise control) from ~24mpg to ~30mpg. Serious gains.

I'm going to talk to Rob from ZCar about changing the valet mode, possibly increasing the rev limiter and making a super efficient map for long drives.
