I own a 2010 G37 I have had the car since new and its 18 months old. I have only put 11,000 miles on it..I work six days a week and I walk to work. I change my oil every 3 months with ester oil. I have changed the oil 5 times since I bought it.

1. Can I change to regular conventional oil instead of spending so much for ester or is better to put ester oil to protect a 40,000 dollar purchase?

2. I have read at 24 months or 30,000 miles its rec. to perform the 30,000 mile service.. change engine coolant air filters auto tans fluid etc.. but in my case is it better to wait until the car has 30,000 miles like in three years or is it best to do it in 2 years?

Thank you fellas...

How much is the ester? I would just suggest going with a full synthetic oil (Royal Purple, Mobil 1, etc are some that people around here use).

The service thing is kind of up to you. I would probably split it and do it around 2.5 years. Believe they changed my coolant/transmission oil when it was traded at 20k miles, but it hasn't been done since (57k miles now).

I wouldn't worry about the coolant until 5 years or 50K miles.

Trans fluid you should drain/fill every 30K - especially if its automatic.

I would worry more about mileage than age. Air filters are easy to do and could be done yourself to save your $50-100.

Oil - some people love the Esther oil. Although its good stuff, its a simple blended oil. You just as well could go buy a high quality full synthetic and have just as good of results. I love Royal Purple, AMSoil, and German Castrol (euro style) as these are full, true synthetics.

Used oil analysis determines that Nissan Ester oil is nothing special. It's way overpriced for what it is. The Ester oil was specifically designed to mitigate startup rattle issues as the ester in the oil helps oil cling to the top-end components long after shutdown, if I remember correctly. I would go with any name-brand conventional for shorter intervals (5k or lower), especially for your very short average intervals of 2.2k miles.

Welcome to NICO.
