New to the family

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all! Just got a 2008 EX35 not sure about all the packages and what not but it basically has the nav and upgraded sound. This is actually my first Japanese car. Before this I've only owned German cars so this was a big shift for me. It replaced my 2009 BMW 335i which was recently totaled. We were looking for something with a little more space but nothing huge. Couldn't find anything I liked in that category other than the EX35. Still getting used to the big car feel since we've never had an suv and mostly coupes. I think the EX is an awesome bang for the buck though with all the features and tech it has. Very plush and comfortable ride. Also getting used to the automatic transmission since I havent owned one in probably 8 years. It would be awesome if they offered a manual on this bad boy. At least I still have my M roadster for when I need to get my jollies off.

Anyways looking forward to participating around here as much as I can!

Thanks! I've noticed it's kinda dead in here. Guess it's not that popular of a car to start with especially maybe with the younger crowd.

it is slower but there is still some good info here and sometimes there is more activity.

I came from a IS300 years ago and a RDX from 07 to last year. Both those cars have much more lively forums, but they are also filled with younger folks too.

I think this car is amazing and has so much mod potential, but since it is more 'upscale / luxury' , you don't see as much of that. More mature folks just leave it as is.. Not me!

MY Upgrades:
Nav hack so I can play DVD's while drving
upgraded ALL interior bulbs to LED, as well as the license and running lights and lights strip under bumper
installed wireless rear-view camera (the original owner didn't get that option!)
4300K H11 xenon HID kit should be here Monday (again, original owner should be slapped)
K&N drop ins

Stay here and lets get it a little more busy! :)

Yeah I noticed that I couldn't do any settings or nav when the car is moving. Kinda annoying, the BMWs let you pretty much do anything except video playback while moving. It should at least detect if there's a passenger and then allow it.

Does anyone make an LED kit for this car? Definitely needs some for the exterior at least like license plate, dtrl etc. Might do the interior at some point also. I still cant even get stuff recorded into the head unit.

Late spring and early summer a lot of people are getting out so posts seem to drop down.

Welcome to NICO and enjoy your EX.

The hack isn't too hard. More intimidating than actually complicated. I put off doing it for a few months and then just got off my butt and did it.

Just buy the LED lights on ebay. I posted links earlier to most of the ones I bought. If you need any specific answers, just let me know!
