Hey there. Been lurking for quite a while, and finally decided to join in.

I own a Black 98 Kouki. I'm not the original own, but I might as well be. I bought it in 99 with 7k miles on it. The dealer I bought it from told me the guy that previously owned it just did not like the car, and traded it in on a freaking Hyundai. LOL! I bought it off their used lot. Saw it while I was driving by acar shopping and signed the papers that day. I had been wanting a 240 for a LONG time.

Well the car now has 104k on it. Still almost 100% stock. I was going to put some money into it a few years back, but had an unexpected career change and had to put it on hold. Now I am ready to start on it. Plans are to keep it my daily, but give it a little extra pop.

I'm thinking, keep it N/A and try to get it up to 200+ hp. I figure that should be easy enough. After that I'm turning to the body. I worked in retail and lived on a golf course for quite a while. With that said the body needs a little TLC. No major damage except the rear bumper where some d-bag hit me in a parking lot. It's got some major cracking.

Oh well that's me. Later!

Yeah I was surprised when I found it on that lot. I fell in love with the 240 when my cousin was working at a Nissan lot and he let me test drive a brand new '96.

I have some pics somewhere but they are on another hard drive. just had to rebuild my comp and haven't slapped that drive in this one yet. I need to take some new ones anyway to chronicle my project.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to NICO!!!

You will not be able to get anywhere near 200HP keeping it N/A. The most you could probably get with bolt-ons is around 170.

Anyways, welcome, and be sure to post some pics!

Thanks.

I'm thinking I can get close to that with a little work. I am going to change some of the engine internals a bit. I have a couple of buddies that own shops so changing internals won't be to much of an ordeal. I am going with different cams for sure. I also have a couple other things I'm thinking about. 200 is just a goal but if I can't get there easily it's ok. I mainly just want to have something I can use daily but have a little fun at the track if I decide to go out.

Just showing you what you're up against. If you really want to do some work, look into ITB's. Good luck, and get those pics up!

Oh yeah....when I say 200 I'm talking chp. I know 200 to the ground is the holy grail and I definitely don't have that kind of cash to throw around.

Guess I should have been a little more clear. LOL!

Welcome to NICO!

Yeah, 200 at the crank is going to be tough.... Any reason you want to stay NA? You'll get WAY more bang for the buck with forced induction.

Welcome! Sounds like a fun project. My sister in law has a cat named Venkmen, was it a character in Ghostbusters or something?

Here are some pics of the ride in it's current state.

Can't see here, but the windshield has a crack going almost all the way across it. Got smacked by a rock on the Interstate down by the wiper on teh drivers side and could not find the chip. Came out the next day after a huge temp change from night to day (thanks Northwest Arkansas inconsistent weather) and it grown.

Driver's side fender has some good bumps in it. One just in front of the door and one right at the marker light. There is also some good spots on the driver's door. These don't allow the window to roll down all the way.

As I said a good one right by the marker. Not sure how easy that one will be to fix.

My crappy rear bumper.

if your looking at looks, i reccommend a lip side skirts and rear valances...

and to meet a 200+ quota, id say bigger injectors, headers, ecu tune, intake, and like a greddy intake mani..

May I recommend this:http://www.thenismoshop.com/ik...13184

Your going to have to get your door repaired by a shop anyway so why not do that and uprade with JDM parts and get a fresh coat of paint all in one shot. You'll love yourself after it is done and your Kouki will be proud of its' heritage!

BTW, nice find with only 9k miles on it! I bought my red Kouki back in 2001 with 40k miles on it. I'm the second owner. The one in my signature photo is my Zenki I bought this past December.
