well im new to the board but not new to the car world. i recently got a 1990 240 sx.ive been looking for some replacement parts for this car and it seems that they are common problem areas.1. i need a drivers side rear quarter. was hit right behind the door and is pretty ugly. any good places to buy these new or salvage yards only way to go?2. right below the rear lights there is like a filler peice between that and bumper. i have seen alot of cars with this rusted out.
i have looked threw many junk yards and salvage shops and eery car i have found has had these peices rusted out.
any links on some replacement parts would be helpful.
also i have noticed a slight rap around 3 grand. sounds like lifter knock to me. brought it to a shop and they said it was nothing. common problem or should i look into tearing it down? also i have noticed that under power i cant hear it. ty for any help

yes i know rear quarters are welded on but didnt know if we had any replacement new out there. also anyone got a clue on that filler peice?and also the rear quarter cant be saved. looks like amybe some guard rails cought it. the door jam is all wrinkled and there is a tear in the middle of the dent. it is pretty ugly. also it tore off the paint on bottom side of quarter and rusted the heck out of it. way to tender and time needed to cut and try and make the door jam look right again.ill try and get some pictures of it.

that rear filler might be able to be located on ebay... I know that if you buy the kouki tails (type X) they include that part (or at least should) that could be a solution... The best thing that I could say about the rear quarter panal would be to continue to check junk-yards/salvage yards or the classified section here on NICO for someone that is parting out a 240 and possibly find one near you that you can pick up once most of the parting is done for relatively cheap (and you'll most likely get some other parts that you might be able to use) Good luck and WELCOME TO NICO!
