the drivers power seat.

The power seat works fine other than the tilt up and down at the front of the seat. It will not tilt up at all. When I physically pull up and help the motor move the seat up, it does go up but as soon as you put any weight on the seat and it just drops down again. It sounds like the gear is stripped.

Can anybody tell me what I need to replace to fix this.

Thanks in advance guy's

Cheers,

Ben

Welcome to NICO!

It's probably the front seat lift motor that has gone bad (or stripped a gear). The problem is that all three motors are on the seat frame. I would just search junk yards in your area to find a new frame or motor. http://www.car-parts.com is a great resource to finding parts. I believe that any seat frame from a 95-99 Maxima or I30 will work.

That makes perfect sense, I will do a search of local junk yards. Thanks for confirming what I thought.

Thanks for the welcome : )

Hey Omar,

The J30 ended up being a nightmare....serious metal to metal noise on startup so the dealer that sold it to me is taking it back.

I spent a bit more money and got a great 95' Max 5 speed, one owner car and she had maintained the hell out of the car, she had all the records etc. The car purrs like a kitten, I am really happy with it. It even came with brand new winter boots and being FWD will be a much better choice for me given I am an avid skier.

Cheers,

BBB

Congrats on the Maxima. Sounds like a former owner did not take care of the poor J30

Sucks for the J. Its a fun car to drive on the highway. But yeah, it sucks in the snow.

Good choice on the Maxima. Got pics?
