Hi everyone....

I am looking to buy a 05 G35 coupe with the Aero package. I am from Mass and it snows a lot here in the winter I was wondering if anyone has had experience they can share with me about this. Did winter tires help?

Also could anyone let me know if there are any problems I should watch out for when buying this.

Thanks,

Brendan

welcome to nico

Yes the winter tire would help a lot. 05 is a good year all the bugs worked out.give the boys a day or so and they'll give their thought too.

You MUST get winter tires or your car will not move 1 inch in the snow!! Trust me.

Also, ALWAYS drive with your VDC on in the winter..don't even chance it or I promise you will regret it

And welcome to NICO!!

Other then that...the 05 is da Bomb!!

Ok...I'm a lil biased

Would you say that I should not get it if I am going to have to drive it in the snow....Or do you drive it everyday in the winter?

Also what kinda of snow tires are the best?

he drives his coupe all year around. So I assume it is possible. But you have to be coupe fanatic like him not to regret it.

have you tried to walk on eggs. That's how you feel when you drive the coupe in the snow.

I live in Cali, I doubt my limited experience with snow this year when it actualy snowed and stuck would count I can say this, with the Michelin Pilots on you noticed it when you hit a patch of ice!

Do a search...there was a post recently about a guy hitting a curve due to ice...and he had VCS on at the time.

The system will not save you from everything...if you drive in the winter, have a set of snow tires on.

In all honesty even though I live here in Cali I have driven in snow with other vehicles multiple times to go snowboarding and or skiing. Short of studded tires I really don't think even winter tires with chains will help that much if at all with ice. They call spilled oil on the road black ice for a reason. Just my 2 cents. If you're careful though which I'm sure you all are shouldn't run into many issues as long as you have chains just in case.

I know my friends used the studded tires on their cars while they were in Oregon during the winter, not with Gs but never the less they liked to drive and said they had good results from them and I think the studs were replaceable if I remember right but maybe not.
