Can i use the stock transmission if not why transmission do u reccomend, what is the performance of the sr in a 240....what does it run in the quarter?

i cant read *'s, but i wasnt being whatever u said i am. this questions is asked seriously 2-3 times a week, its like the 300zx owners when the noo-b's ask how much work is needed to make their n/a a twin turbo, they actually kill people on twinturbo.net for doing that, i just told u to search. and when did your altima family sedan come out, how big is the motor? alright then, u cant compare a civic dx to a murcielago. it doesnt work. now ur car is not a lambo, and we dont drive civics, but if you are gonna be the a$$ then why dont you go to the altima forums and do your own research. if u are to lazy, then u dont deserve a 240. if u have a real question about how to do something, then we would be happy to help.

Because this is a 240sx forum not a Altimas forum. I think people who own 240sx should know more about it. The previous post is why i made that remark. Don't be so ****y its only a 240sx that why i made that remark! i don't come out and say oh i can't beat you because i have a bigger displacement engine and have similiar engines that come from the 350z. All i wanted was a simple reply...how hard is that!

I drive a 3.5 altima you know the car that runs mid 14 stock; its not a Honda. not 16 sec like a stock 240sx!

yeah what's the HP difference? 3.5L 6 cylinder vs. a 140 rwhp 2.4L inline four.

Its only a 240sx not some porsche turbo!

yeah, this really will want to make people help you. Dis on the car you originally ask questions about. stick with your family sedan and go away.

Bring your Altima my way and I will show you where it belongs. Behind my tail lights. Is that all? It's not about the power of the stock SR, it's about the easy room for improvement with simple mods. What is your deal? Yeah sure there was some negative posts, but look at your own attitude. You need to help yourself before others are willing to help you. Yeah, that's all. Later...

Stop the newbie bashing guys!:bash

Jeez!

Are members having a bad weekend or are just the unpleasant ones logged on?:spank

Yes, he can get the answers via search, but it's not like its so hard to write the one sentence it takes to answer.

If you dont wanna answer then don't, other wise its a simple question that all can answer, would cost a lot less effort than arguing, with the man.

Fred....:)

Plan on no less than $5000 for a bare bones swap.

yes and no. The bellhousings are diffferent. you must have an SR20det bellhousing. It is easier to simply get the entire transmission.

Quote » what is the performance of the sr in a 240....what does it run in the quarter? [/quote]

205 crank HP, Aprox 170whp. 14.5 or so depending on the driver and suspension mods.

Now that i've answered your questions..

Next time you have a question, search first, none of us feel like rehashing these simple points over and over again. We did it for months, we're sick of it. If you cant find any answers in your search, ask an intellegent question and we will be glad to help. You have to try to understand how sick we are of these bandwagon SR fans.

Second, Phrases like "only a 240sx" will not win you any friends around here. We happen to be proud of our cars, while we all know they arent porsches, I dont think this cars potential can be reduced to ONLY a 240sx. if you really feel it is ONLY a 240, then i suggest you look for a second car elsewhere.

I also side with the Altima guy. Seems like if I post something it always gets negative reaction. What might be important to me may not be important to others. So why the attitude?

OMFG! Look people do actually grasp the concept!! lol. It's not that we are trying to be ***holes, it's common sense to search for your answers before you post repetitive threads about the same questions over and over again. Sure sometimes people are more direct then others and may come off as an ******* when they tell you to search, but over time you continue to see the same questions being asked it does get rather annoying. Not only is it a waste of HD space it's a waste of bandwidth, trust me BW isn't cheap these days. Anyway, of course theres going to be ***holes from time to time - it's the internet and you'll always have them. I've learned to get use to it and move on. Sorry if anyone took what I said in my previous posts offensive. :)
