Ok so this is my first time doing a sub installon a car and i need a little help can some one put in simple terms what I need? I am making a custom enclosure for a set of 2 10" pioneer premire TS-SW1001S_ now they can be either S2 or S4 for either 2 or 4 ohms. I cant find out what the difference is between 2 and 4 ohms and which one I should get. I also dont have a clue what amp to use with these subs if any one could send me in the right direction there that would help as well. The RMS for these is 300 for each with a 1200 max. I hope some one can at least reference me to a good write up cause from the hour of searching on google that I did I am more lost now then i was before.

ok after some more reaserch it looks like I may have found what I am looking for if some one can verify this for me.I am looking to match the subs to what the amp is designed for if I wire them in series thats 4 or 8 ohms respectivley or in parallel its 2 or 4 ohms. as for the power of the amp its self if I wire the subs in parallel it looks like I want a amp made for around 300 watts and made to handle 4 ohms of resistance correct?

Series would be 4 or 8 ohm, that's correct.Parallel would be 1 or 2 ohm.

Series adds resistance, so 3, 4ohm subs would = 12ohmsParallel divides resistance, so 3, 4ohm subs would = 1.33ohms.

Simplistically put, here are your options,4ch amp: Bridge 2ch's together to each sub. Get 4ohm subs.2ch amp: Wire one sub to each channel. Get 2ohm subs.1ch amp: Wire subs together in parallel. Get 4ohm subs.

For matching up what amp to get, I'm a big fan of modeling your driver in their box and checking excursion levels and seeing how much power it will take to damage the speakers. If I find 500w will damage them, I'm not going to get a 750w amp.
