hello everyone, ive been into the nismo cars for the past several years with my z32 and now decided to go to a s14.i bought this car already swapped,it has a s15 bottom end and a s14 head, supposedly rebuilt by gs motorsports in Irving TX and there is not a drop of oil anywhere.only problem is that the wiring looks kinda shaky and im getting no fire on the #2coil.the injector is hitting just fine and i've got good power to the plug.what i tried was the old timing light trick,i put the timing gun around #1 and the timing light goes off as it should, around #2 the guns goes off for a split second and quits.im stumped!!!!!!!

Well as far as I know SR's use individual coil packs. swap the coil with another coil. With the #2 coil removed and swapped with another coil from a different cylinder, attach a spark plug to the coil and place it against ground and crank the engine (remove fuel pump relay so engine doesn't start). You should see a spark out of the spark plug. If it sparks after you swapped coils, replace the coil. See how this works before I go further with more diag.

Good luck

^^^already did that my friend.it has all brand new coils as well and the miss wont follow the coil.i dont understand why the coil will fire for a split second and then quit.unless the ecu isnt telling it to fire, the ecu has supposedly been tuned so im not 100% sure if its good.

Next thing would be to take a test light and attach it to the battery positive, disconnect the coil's connector and probe the coils primary coil ground to the ecu. Crank the engine or let it run and watch for the test light to flash on and off. This will clarify if the ecu has control over the coils ground path. Also, make sure you have continuity between the power circuit and the ground circuit.

ok so i have power to the test light when i turn the key to the on position, ill have power to the light when i first turn the key but after it cranks for a split second the test light goes off.ecu is where im pointing but wanted to ask before i spent money on one.and my car has a 255pump so would i need the ecu tuned for that for it to run????

or could i be losing the connection thru the harness somewhere.just hate to start throwing parts at the thing, the wiring harness is a cluster, very hack job.
