Hi guys/gals. Im new to the site. Just bought my first 240 and love it. Its a 93 SE. It ran fine after the first 2 weeks of having it but now its not lol. It started to miss and i found that #2 cly. was dead. It has good compression. Its getting spark and fuel, but to much fuel. You can take all the spark plugs out and turn the motor over and it will keep pumping fuel out of number 2 cyl. its like the fuel injector in stuck open or something. But i swapped injectors and its still in that #2 cly. Its got me stumped. I wasnt sure if this was a common problem with these cars or if its something in the harness. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Check harness on that connector. Maybe going to ground all the time. If not in the harness- than probably your ecu. If you have a friend with an extra ecu- try switching it. If not- I have an ecu from '91 manual trans that I'll let go for $40 + shipping.

Ok i might do that. i failed to mention that i can unplug that injector, and it will still pump out fuel. i think tomorrow i am going to take the fuel rail out and watch what is happening when i turn the motor over. Oh yeah and its a DOHC 5 speed

In that case- it sounds like a torn o-ring. The o-rings on side-feed injectors are a B****, to get right. I would start with a new set of o-rings, and lube them up with some WD-40, and carefully replace.

Thats what i was thinking, because why else would it keep dumping fuel unless its stuck open/ or bad o-ring. But i will replace o rings and swap the injector again with another and go from there. oh Btw. The plactic peice around the ends are broke off of 2 of the injectors when i was installing them Would this efeect the spray pattern?

The pieces being broken is not all that bad, as lond as they are not missing. The only purpose of them is to keep the bottom o-ring on the injector while installing.

no actually they are broken off. LOL But now I think about it, a bad o ring wouldn't make a leak would it. It doesnt seal off any fuel right, just air?
