Whats up everyone I just bought a Q45 Monday Jan 8th 08. Been a big fan of the car for a while and I finnaly picked one up.

But (to cut to the chase) it is a bucket needs work and the biggest thing that is bugging me is i cannot get it to rev past 1800 rpm, as soon as i get it up there it just sputters. Did my searching before I asked and that and the closest one that was in my problem area was zerothread/287476, so I did do my seraching and I looked at lots of post and I did everything that was suggested and I am still having the problems. Was hoping some of you guys might know of something else or something I really just want to feel the best out of the car.

The things that I did was unplug the maf to see of any changes and car dies like it is supposed to. unplugged the throtle position sensor and cleaned it still no change.

Any help and I will be the happiest.

thanks in advance

WELCOME TO NICO!

What year is this Q? If it is a 90-93 model you will first check the sticky thread about the timing chain guides.

Next I would check the fuel pressure after the filter. It could be a clogged fuel filter or just a bad pump or fuel pump control module or all 3. How many miles does it have?

So what did your pre-purchase inspection by a senior Infiniti technician reveal?

What did the Infiniti Service History state? Any additional documentation?

We need facts as symptoms may have many and even multiple causes. With no conditon and maintenance baseline, we can only speculate like you.

Welcome to NICO.

We do tons of prepurchase inspections and every 14 year old Q needs significant rehabilitation.

It can be something as simple as a $3500 transmission replacement to a complicated series of engine faults, injectors, hoses. connectors, and wiring.

AC is often on last legs and evry thing made of rubber or isolated by rubber is brittle.

On average 94 require less expense than ealier models but you never know.

Why one has an expert perform tests to find out if you are buying a PRISTINE PAINT and interior that needs $12,000 or just $3,000 in repairs!
