Hello Fellow Q-Owners & Enthusiasts!

I recently purchased a 1997 Q45, which I found at a wholesaler in Phoenix, Arizona. Aside from some minor cosmetic issues, the car is fairly sound. 91k miles, black with tan interior. It was a leased vehicle for many years. The downside is not having maintenance records, and the wholesaler didn't know too much about it's history.

CarFax came back clean, reporting nothing that would cause one to worry.

Since this is my first Inifiniti, I'm hoping to get some pointers from you veterans out there on what to look for, and how to treat my new "old" car. Any information would be appreciated.

If any of you happen to have the 1997 (not the TOURING model), please send me any advice, reviews, etc, etc.

Thanks in advance to all.

Welcome to NICO! My Q is older so I can't tell you specifics for your model but, like any vehicle, regular consistent fluid changes are a must. For many people basic maintenance is not a big enough priority. I'm sure at 11 years old there are some undercarriage rubber that is in need of attention, specifically on the suspension.

Post some pics asap! Welcome again. Hope you stick around and become part of the family.

Welcome. First, if you want to get the service records for your car, take the VIN number to your local infiniti shop and they can pull it up (granted if the work was done at a Infiniti dealer). I have the same body style that you have. If you want to research about your car, there is plenty of info using the search button. Type in "Y33" and there should be many posts on our cars.

Infiniti always has the dealer performed service records. When you register your car with Infiniti Customer Service, they will read them to you. Don't know if they will print them if you call on them in person. A service writer can get them for you as a favor.

Welcome to NICO.

Don't take the cost of rubber/plastic seal replacement lightly, when you add up the HUNDREDS OF ITEMS and the fact that many are intergrated with metal arms and components you are dealing with $5,000 worth of parts plus the labor to change them.

Unfortunately junkyards are just a pile of worn out rubber components.
