I have owned 2 Honda CRX's which are hella fun but recently I came across a 240sx Coupe for 500 bucks so I hade to jump on it, I have always loved these cars. When I bought it, it had a bunch of problems which I have fixed almost all of them. The radiator had a crack in the top. The battery couldn't stay charged. The trunk latch wouldn't work. The dash lights wouldn't come on. The starter stopped working. All that I have fixed, now I can't seem to figure out why I can't use anything in the car unless the engine is running. Whenever I shut the car off, EVERYTHING shuts off. I can't honk the horn, turn on lights, the seatbelt won't even work unless the engine is running. Where should I look first?

check fuses near the battery, and check the wiring near the battery

I checked all the fuses when I bought the car. But I'll look at the wires closer. Also Sometimes nothing inside will work when I start the car sometimes. IE Gauges, lights, wipers, seatbelt, etc until I rev the engine, then everything comes on, so I'm thinking theres a bad wire or loose connection somewhere.

Okay I found the problem, It turns out that the alternator fuse was blown. Which turned out to be a huge PITA. I checked 5 different parts stores in town, then checked the Nissan dealership, No one had the 75 amp fuse. So I eventually had to go to a junkyard and find up.
