New to Nissan, FAQ for Sentra SE-R Spec V's?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Hey guys, as topic states I'm new to Nissan. I just got out of a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T which was a very good car to me. I'm now in a 2006 Sentra SE-R Spec V. My question again is, Is there a good resource/faq for the engine in the Sentra SE-R's? I knew my VW inside and out and I'd like to get to that same place in this car. Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate any help

I thought this problem would have been fixed by now, but it hasn't been and my spec is a 2002. I'm having an oil consumption test being conducted now and it seems to have stopped burning oil. Went from using 10w-30 mobil 1 to the penzoil the dealer put in for the test. I'm a bit confused about the situation, but I have also learned the Suby owners were having some problems with the mobil 1 as well. Pre-Cat failure is your worst enemy and most say put a header on so the problem doesn't occur. So yes, I said mod your car so it doesn't blow up down the road. The motor does respond well to mods though. I/H/E and you will be happy with the performance of the car. It also handles quite well, even on stock suspension. Did you get brembos? Post up some pics and there is a sentra owners thread floating around. Introduce yourself in there and post up the some pics. in there as well.

Yeha, i just got my motor replaced for pre-cat failure, in fact that timing chain thread is my nightmare. Also, many poeple on this forum have told me to have loctited butterfly screws. i found out that the spec v tends to lose power due to a loose intake manifold. I would suggest motor mount inserts to rid you of wheel hop, if you want to modify.
