just wanna say whats up to everyone out there. i dont drive any kind of nissan, i drive a mazda. well a ford probe gt. prolly gonna hold on to her for a while, but i figured it wouldnt hurt to know a whole bunch of other **** about a completely different car. Ive been on the probetalk.com forums for almost 3 years. I have the j-spec KLZE MX6 engine with a bunch of mods.

well as for my intro, on to the question.

Q: what would be the best way to go about starting to look for a good s series car, and going about making power. ive been reading about the SRdet swap, but was also wondering if it would be just as beneficial to turbo the stock a-spec motor??Q: things to look for when purchasing a used s series car??

Q: are there a lot of known problems with these type of cars/engines??

latez.

remember im new here, and these boards arent nearly as big as the forums on PT, so im gonna have to start my research somehwere.

These cars are extremly well built cars. They handle good, and the KA24DE is bullet proof.

Basicly, just start looking around and try to find one that has good milage on it. Try and find one not ragged out. Compression and leak down test are the best way to insure the engine is in good condition. Of course getting the seller to let you do these test is another matter.

There is a little thread about which is better SR or KA. I think it is over in the KA-T section. It is way long, but alot of opinions and some good data. I actuall like the turbo-ed KA, but I could go either way, myself.

It all depends on what you want as far as power. The KA-T has mad torque. But the SR is higher revving. If you got the money, you could go with the RB serris engines. Or there is the smaller CA18DET, oldder and smaller than the KA or SR but it is still a good little engine.

being that the ka motor is a truck motor, it is pretty much bullet proof, that goes to show that it is a good base to add some top end power to.

so from what i beleive, the KA motors cme in the a-spec s series cars, and i think the CA is from the 180sx right? or whatever pulsar or whatever. i really like the style of the s14 24o's but they look a little werid stock. the s13's can just be dropped and look rad with some wheels.

im more into the performance of cars, hence i onlyhave springs and wheels on my car fo looks. rest is motor work.

s14 cars look awesome with kits, or silvia conversions or whatever, but i need the power, with a hint of sleeperness taste. know what i mean?

i'll try and do more searches and find out all i wanna know about tese cars. but these forums arent that big, are there any other really informative site about 240's?

KA s13 with 150 shot of Nitrous for the sleeper. Dont have to worry about the blow off valve giving you away.:D
