Whats up people? I just registered. This makes the like two hundredth forum I'm currently apart of. But getting to the buisness...
I'm new to Nissans. Ive been building turbo DSM's for about 4 1/2 years. I currently own two. Mind you, I'm only 19. My brother has a few ka 240s, just I/H/E. But he just recently acquired an s13 trunk car. The last owner of the car had the car for around 10 years atleast. He bought a front clip and converted the car to the JDM front end, as well as swapping in the SR20DET.
The car cranks up and idles fine. But runs like poo on the low end. Its like it has no power until 4 grand. I'm just about positive that the timing is off. Plus the front cover of the engine leaks oil badly and there is ultra-black all over it. So there is no telling what those retards have done to it. So I'm going to pull apart the front of the engine to replace all the gaskets, and set the timing. What is a good place to buy SR parts such as OEM quality gaskets and a repair manual?
Also there is any amount of unused connectors lying around the engine bay. I figured that the guys that done the swap would have used the sr harness, and that there would be no unused connectors. But I dont know whats in this thing, or whats supposed to be there.
Lastly, the clutch doesnt want to disengage all the way. My brother put a new master cyl and slave cyl on the car. I wasnt there when he did it. He said they bled it thoroughly. I went and looked at the car yesterday. The clutch pedal wont come all the way up when you let off it. It probably has some air in it still but I dont see why that would cause the pedal from coming all the way up. Its almost as if the spring in the pedal assembly is weak. Ive put many a slave and master on dsm's but even when the line is full of air, the pedal still comes all the way up.
I was looking at the car yesterday, and just got a headache, because its so unfamiliar to me. I will get my brother to send me some pics of it so I can post up on here. I dont get to mess with the car much since it is about 45 mins away.
I'm sorry for writing a novel. I'm an eclipse person, and I just don't know where to start with this thing.
thanks
