Hey guys, I just purchased a brand new 2012 Altima Coupe 2.5S and I just signed up for the forums, I needed a place to learn about this car from all the Altima experts over here. I'm from NYC, not sure where everyone is from but seems friendly here. I know my license frame bracket says chevy cause Im a salesman for chevy but ended up getting a nissan... So far i got my tailights tinted and im waiting on my appointment for my windows to be tinted! Got the car debadged too and bought my car at invoice price cause i knew the manager at the nissan dealership :) Let me know what you guys think, I have absolutely no idea what type of exhaust to put on it or intake, been trying to do research but im getting all confused lol. Next step is probably to paint my rims gunmetal and brake calibers red.

Oh man. I love the red leather. Grats on the new ride. Exhaust is all about taste. Depends on how loud you want it and if you want pre fabbed or custom. Listen to some of the setups on YouTube and see what fits your taste best.

Then lower it. Lowering is a requirement. I'm saving up for a set of coils right now haha.

Welcome!
K&N intake seems to be the most popular for the 2.5. Im running it as well.
If your gonna paint your rims gun metal i suggest the GTR wheel color. :mike
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Ive ripped apart this car inside and out.
Heres a link to my current exhaust set-up. Had it fabbed up as i didnt really like the tone i was getting from available exhausts. exhaust-help-t561792.html
Nismo exhaust also has a great tone from what ive heard.

Nice car! My mother recently purchased the 2012 as well. Plenty of us are on here if you need any assistance when it comes to mods. Haha!

Welcome! We have many NYC members. I don't think I've seen a Crimson Black Coupe with red interior....or is your car Super Black?

Thank you guys!! I was actually thinking about getting Borla's but i heard a lot of the custom exhausts and it really threw off the fact that i wanted Borlas haha wanted like a low deep tone, the nismo's do sound nice but its just a bit too deep, the Y-pipes on the 3.5 sounds real good too but i heard it doesn't work on the 2.5's not sure how that works! Irvxina your exhaust sounds good but its abit off my taste alittle too deep maybe it sounds different in person:o so thats the intake i would be looking for the K&N, how much do they run for? when do you guys suggest i install it since i bought a new car a lot of people are saying break it in and put it on at like 5k miles or can i do it earlier? Whats the diff between the K&N and Takeda? The cars actually Super black lmao the red interior really caught my eye.

welcome! borla is only for the 3.5 as well, so that's not an option, sadly :(

For the 2.5s, stillen headers are your substitute for the y pipe (ive heard you can run spec-v headers and save a little money).

Good luck!

I have the nismo catback with a takeda intake. If you want an idea of what those sound like here you go.

Note: the tone is deeper in person
