Hi everyone!
New to the forum. Pcked up an 06 M45 Sport with Tech, nav, siocally everything but the rear DVD. Had an 05 GS300 before, wanted something different. Modded the Lexus quite a bit (coil overs, cams, intake, exhaust, etc) and have not seen much around for the M as yet. Still have my Supras and Grand National so I will take it a bit slower with the M. So far: I've pulled the driver's seat and welded in a new bracket to combat the lower seat pad colapsiong issue. Surprised that Nissan used that relatively poor design. On entry/exit all of your weight is focused right in that area. Doesn't matter how heavy you are, it will break. Ordered a new start switch (only $45) ecause of my OCD on interior issues. Upgraded to the latest nav disc. That's it up until now.
I really enjoy the drive, comfy and it scoots. I don't like the hesistation on full throttle from a stop but I guess the only way to get rid ofhat is with UPREV, correct? Chassis seems very stable and stiff which is probably why I have been unable to find and strut bars. I would like a bit less body roll so I'm on the hunt for some larger (particularly rear) anti sway bars. Have coil overs on the Sups and had them on the GS (Tein with EDFC). Not going to take the M that low so I'll try some Eibach or Tein springs. Any suggestions on mods would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome! I too am on coilovers now (d2 racing) previously on eibach and springs is right... Depends how low you wanna go! They all pretty much do the same, stiffen you a bit (roll) and lower to the stance you desire. As four the hesitation at take off, turn of VDC on the left bottom by your mirror controls... The VDC (traction control) on this car is very sensitive due to the large amount of torque!! Try it out!! :bigthumb:

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yep, know about the VDC, I've had fun with that. The hesitation is the built in factory "limiter". Below ~15 MPH the throttle plate is limited to maybe 75% opening. Then at ~16MPH the throttle plate goes full open and there is a very noticable surge in power or wheel spin if VDC is off. Same thing on the Lexus GS 430. VDC on/off does not make any difference in the below 15MPH lag (at least on my car). Best I can ascertain UPREV is the only way to get rid of it. Blitz throttle control got rid of it on the Lexus but apparantly not on the Infiniti.

I'm sure coil overs will be in my future down the road but springs will suffice for now as it is still a VERY stock car.

Has anyone seen either on a car or in a catalog (printed or on line) any larger anti sway bars or strut bars for our cars?

Just don't floor the gas pedal until you hit 22mph.

I was told It's not a hesitation, it's done with the timing. Once you pass 22mph the cars doesn't retard any timming. I hate it too.

Interesting, didn't think it was timing as my scanner didn't show any appreciable retard on the ignition. Just relately low MAF reading until 15MPH or so and then a large jump which is what led me to the throttle plate not fully opening. I'll log tomorrow and see what the timing does.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Did a couple of runs from naught with the accel pedal floored and did not notice any limiting of ignition advance. However, at the transition point ~15mph, the TPS actual goes from 72% to 100% and there is a corresponding increase in the MAF reading (well above the normal climb with RPMs). My only conclusion is that the throttle plate in the throttle body is limited until ~15 MPH is reached and after that speed it is in alignment with the accel pedal. Didn't matter if VDC was on or off (lot more tire spinning and smoke with it off though :chuckle: )
