Welcome, probably so it won't blow up. Stick a auto ecu in it or something.

My s13 used to not rev past 4k as well. It would just act like it hit the fuel cutoff speed limiter. Eventually, I found out that my speed sensor had become unplugged from my transmission. Plugged it back in, problem solved.

Try checking those out. There's like four sensors on the trans. Make sure they're all secure.

I wouldn't say they LIKE to overheat, but if your thermostat is going out/failing or you have a faulty radiator cap or something trippy like that, you might overheat.

If your temp gauge starts climbing, crank your heater all the way up on full blast. That may help to bring the temperature back down to manageable levels until you can pull over somehere.

What KA's really LIKE to do is foul out fuel injectors and make you run on 3 cylinders... :frown:

Fan works fine along with an aftermarket elec fan. What do u mean by bleeding the coolant? I'm starting to think I need a new radiator..

bleeding the coolant is an important step in any coolant related repair. There can be air bubbles trapped in the coolant system which can cause random problems such as overheating.

Heres some nifty instructions on how to flush your radiator along with bleeding the system.
http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/how-to ... 240sx.html

There is a bleeder screw on the KA use it. if it is stuck shut, make the radiator cap (with cap off of course) the highest point in the cooing system by jacking up the front of the car. idle the car untill at operating temp. turn the heat on high. and fill with coolant as air escapes, squeezing rad hoses everyonce in awhile forces the hiding bubbles out.
If you keep having problems with air bubbles in the system invest in a swirl tank.

Also, when you installed new thermo, the jiggly lil guy in the hole should have been at the top. make sure it is.

^This. Also, are you running a clutch fan AND a radiator fan, dual electric fans, or did the PO remove the clutch fan and left only one electric radiator fan? If it's the 3rd one, that's fine as long as you aren't running A/C. You you do only have one and are running a/c, that's the problem. My SR heats up a little when I'm stopped for a few and A/C is on. It won't overheat, but it will rise a little.

So I just realized there's three tiny hoses under where the in air intake connects to the motor are mssing ima guess these are vaccume hoses? If so would the be my rev limit problem?
