Hey guys, Ive been lurking and reading these forums for awhile but just got around to registering, I usually post on Fresh Alloy but I get the impression that if I'm interested in CA's, this is the place to go. Anyway, just wanted get some of your impressions. Right now I have a 90' 240 with a silvia front end (a sileighty if you want call it that) with a redtop sr, and I am getting more and more interested in CA's the more I read about them. I have had pretty much nothing but problems with the sr I have right now and I am seriously considreing going CA in the near future. Ive read all the pro's and con's etc. So basically heres the idea, pull the SR, drop in the CA, sell the SR. Is there anything I should be aware of doing this? As far as stock performance goes, what are the differences? Also, I'm maybe possibly kinda considering going with an CA auto 4-speed, just for fun, this is a daily driver, any opinions on the transmission? Are the any simple upgrades for it like the hks automatic line controller for the z32? All help and opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

:wavey welcome to NICO damesta! as far as the auto CA transmission, as far as I know, none of us have autos... so I can't really help you there... someone might know your hks automatic line controller for the z32 question though (but I have no clue)

oh well, nice to have another prospective CA owner (especially one who wants to ditch his SR for a CA:ylsuper )

I have an auto CA18DET powered silvia and although i have only owned it for a few days and don't know the car very well i would say it is not particularly well suited to an automatic transmission. My car is standard so obviously some mods would help but the lack of torque makes it a bit of a handfull as it hunts for lower gears when driven hard on a twisty bit of road. I have considered a worked auto for drag duties but i think a manual trans will make it more versatile and ultimately nicer to drive and i have an auto daily driver already.shameless plug for my cars: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/351709:oface

*edit* OMG!!! you owned that GORGEOUS u12 bluebird!?! I have posted pictures of it like 50 times saying it is by far the best u12 I've ever seen (appearence wise its amazing, and the fact that it has a CA18 in it doesn't hurt!) do you have any more pictures of this car?

Could you reccomend a could one for someone who is kind of on a budget? I was just thinking about ordering a used s13 non-abs vlsd cause i don't have abs and i don't know what else to get really heh. help!

thanks for backing me on liking C33's damesta, most people think i am :bonghit on crack.there must be some auto CA's hitting the strip but the majority of people buy of fit a manual.

iliketocrash: a used S13 LSD should be fine, i don't think it matters if it has an ABS sensor, you just don't plug it in to anything
