Hey guys first off I wanted to say thanks for this awesome website I've been doing lots of homework here and its helped out so much!I'm trying to put a remote start on my 2008 Spec V and am having a hell of a time with the clutch bypass. Please don't flame me, I know the risk, I won't ever leave it in gear and I installed the switch to turn the remote start off if I someone else ever needs to use my vehicle.

I'm having a friend of mine do it who's been in the industry for over 10 years. The normal ways of bypassing the clutch don't want to work on this vehicle though, it seems no matter what way he does it the car won't start.

Directed Electronics sells a 689M which is a Neutral Safety Bypass which prevents the car from starting when put in gear, but before I by this I want to know if the remote start is even possible, or if maybe thats the key to my success?

If you've done this to your 2008 Spec V please help me out! Thanks so much in advance!!!

I'm not much help on this one, but welcome to NICO anyways! Here's a free thread bump. One of our 07+ owners may have experience to help you out.

I know that on previous Sentras (and I think any Nissan) there's a kill switch connected to the clutch so that the car won't try to start without the clutch disengaged. I assume your buddy knows this, so that may not tell you anything...

As far as i know, the actual Key fob is the answer to your issues. I remember hearing about 7 resistors that needed to be soldered in to the fob for it to work. Not sure if that only pertains to those with the Intelligent key or not.

ill try to find out for you.

Edit***I know something is done right (or wrong) since the car doesn't want to allow me to set the cruise control (just as if the clutch was depressed) and the car with start through the remote if I'm sitting in it manually depressing the clutch...
