Ok im looking at a 01 qx4 with 3.5 vq with timing chain. I have read that the biggest problem is the power valve screws. I have read the hole how to kinda thing on the front page but the part im getting lost at is witch part is the power vavles? Are they in the runners and if so witch one the upper or lower or in the intake manifold thats on the motor the hole time? Is there any where to see a better pic i have looked and not finding one my self? The qx4 im looking at has 175k on it and is 8k dollars is this to many miles the suv looks in great shape for that many miles and doesn't seem to have any leaks?

I also found another one at toyota for 11k for 105k miles on it and seems a little cleaner inside but that could have just been better cleaning down by a dealer ship and not a little dealer like i found the first one at.

Is there any thing else i need to look for when i go to put it on my rack one more time before i buy it and try to find for problems?

Thanks for all the help. My main reason for buying one now is i moved to spokane wa and in winter time we get a s*** ton of snow fast we broke records last year and not just are's.

From reading what you said, i think your wondering where they are/how they look like,

here ya go.

Hope that helps, and mostly there is no problems with qx4s/pathy's, mostly the rear o2 sensors and that type of stuff, but other than that, really really reliable cars.

your only problem would be rust, and that kinda stuff, but if you paint your chassis, have good upkeep, wash/wax it alot, do all maintenance, yeah it should last you a long time

At that many miles, so much will depend on the service history and previous owners. If it was well treated and maintained, and you have documentation to back it up, then you'll end up with a nice truck. However, if it's been abused, or you're not sure of the service history, make sure you have a thorough inspection done before buying.I also think with that many miles that the price would be negotiable.Good luck.

Honestly that seems high for that mileage. I wouldn't pay any more then $6500. I'd go for the one with the lower mileage and walk out paying $10K. Just my $0.02 though.

Those prices are too high. You can get one with under 100k miles for under $10k.

OK i have been talking to the dealer about the one with 172k that they wanted 8k for and got them down to 6400 dollars and 221 a month at 7.9 apr rate. Is that a good deal for this truck i have been driving it a couple times and checked the fuilds both times and the transmission fuild is pink but i can see it still needs to be change but its not black soo its been clean about 80% of it its life and im going to put red line fuild in her when i get it.

I feel kinda bad i really want this truck and have never wanted a auto this bad in my life most of the time i can jus t walk away from any car but my integra and this thing has me thinking about all the fun s*** i can do that the integra can't.

Both vehicles are 01s, correct? I would try talking the dealer down on the one with 105k miles.
