At that many miles, so much will depend on the service history and previous owners. If it was well treated and maintained, and you have documentation to back it up, then you'll end up with a nice truck. However, if it's been abused, or you're not sure of the service history, make sure you have a thorough inspection done before buying.I also think with that many miles that the price would be negotiable.Good luck.ssmokeyy wrote:Thank you for your help. So, is 174k miles to much for this truck or is there a lot of life left in them still? My wife's Nismo vg 200sx has 500k miles on it and its still runs great. thanks again for the help...
Honestly that seems high for that mileage. I wouldn't pay any more then $6500. I'd go for the one with the lower mileage and walk out paying $10K. Just my $0.02 though.ssmokeyy wrote:Ok im looking at a 01 qx4 with 3.5 vq with timing chain. I have read that the biggest problem is the power valve screws. I have read the hole how to kinda thing on the front page but the part im getting lost at is witch part is the power vavles? Are they in the runners and if so witch one the upper or lower or in the intake manifold thats on the motor the hole time? Is there any where to see a better pic i have looked and not finding one my self? The qx4 im looking at has 175k on it and is 8k dollars is this to many miles the suv looks in great shape for that many miles and doesn't seem to have any leaks?
I also found another one at toyota for 11k for 105k miles on it and seems a little cleaner inside but that could have just been better cleaning down by a dealer ship and not a little dealer like i found the first one at.
Is there any thing else i need to look for when i go to put it on my rack one more time before i buy it and try to find for problems?
Thanks for all the help. My main reason for buying one now is i moved to spokane wa and in winter time we get a s*** ton of snow fast we broke records last year and not just are's.
